Minimally invasive interventional treatment of pancreatic cancer has miraculous effects

Several major events occurred in China in 2008, but for Lin Fengying, the top priority was that she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

When the people of the whole country were immersed in grief, 58-year-old Lin Fengying was also trapped in pain, unable to extricate herself, on the one hand for the people in the earthquake-stricken areas, and on the other hand for her own misfortune.

As early as the beginning of spring, Aunt Lin experienced intermittent distension and pain in the left upper abdomen without any cause. An ultrasound examination at the local hospital was found to have gallstones and space-occupying lesions in the pancreas, but no attention was paid to it and only simple treatment was given.

Fast forward to July. Aunt Lin began to suffer from frequent upper abdominal distension and pain, which was unbearable, accompanied by jaundice and weight loss. So she went to a large hospital in the city for treatment. The hospital performed a deep laparotomy on Aunt Lin, during which a 7*8cm mass was found in the head of the pancreas, which was extensively adhered to the surrounding tissues and could not be removed. Intraoperative pathological examination showed well-differentiated adenocarcinoma.

So Aunt Lin was hospitalized for treatment. She still had left upper abdominal distension and anorexia. The physical examination KPS (general physical condition) was 60 points, left upper abdominal tenderness without rebound pain, B-ultrasound showed a 9*8cm solid low-echo mass in the pancreatic head, and multiple retroperitoneal lymph nodes were enlarged. The diagnosis was well-differentiated pancreatic cancer.

The condition was extremely serious. After discussion by the expert group, it was decided to use energy-focused minimally invasive interventional therapy to treat Aunt Lin. The specific plan was: CT-guided percutaneous pancreatic tumor radioactive particle implantation treatment; simultaneous arterial vascular intervention with anti-cancer drugs; combined with energy-focused thermal therapy and external and oral application of Chinese medicine.

After 4 weeks, Aunt Lin's left upper abdominal pain was significantly relieved, and she could eat again. Her KPS was 80 points. Ultrasound examination showed: there was a 2cmx3cm solid low-echo mass in the pancreas. After 2 courses of treatment, Aunt Lin's pancreatic mass basically disappeared.

During the 10-month follow-up, the patient was in good general condition and could take care of himself.
