How a heavy smoker ends up with lung cancer

Mr. Wang was recently admitted to the provincial hospital. He changed his previous habit of smoking and kept away from tobacco. Talking about his 50-year smoking history, Mr. Wang regretted it very much: "When I was 13 years old, I thought smoking was fun, so I stole my father's dry tobacco to smoke. It didn't matter, but I became addicted. I couldn't quit no matter what I did. I felt uncomfortable if I didn't smoke for an hour. Before I was diagnosed with the disease, I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day. My pension was almost gone except for my own smoking. Now I have lung cancer, it's too late to regret! If I had known earlier, I would have quit smoking anyway, so that I could live at least one more year!" The old man's tears fell, and the onlookers sighed!

Lung cancer is the cancer with the highest morbidity and mortality rate in the world, which is closely related to its hidden onset. Lung cancer is not easy to detect in the early stage, and once it is discovered, it is basically in the late stage.

Smoking is one of the main causes of lung cancer. The smoke produced by burning cigarettes contains dozens of harmful substances, including carbon monoxide, nicotine and other alkaloids, which cause varying degrees of damage to many organs of the body. Long-term smoking can cause bronchial mucosal epithelial cell hyperplasia, induce squamous cell carcinoma or undifferentiated small cell carcinoma, and although non-smokers can also suffer from lung cancer, adenocarcinoma is more common.

To increase the success rate of quitting smoking, effectively prevent lung cancer or reduce the incidence of lung cancer, the whole society should vigorously publicize the harmfulness of smoking, and at the same time introduce some scientific methods of quitting smoking to stay away from the harm of cigarettes.
