What diseases should be differentiated from skin cancer

The symptoms of many diseases are very similar to those of skin cancer. Only by learning to differentiate diseases with similar symptoms can we achieve the effects of early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment.

1. Differentiation from basal cell carcinoma

The main sites of basal cell carcinoma are the face, especially the nose, forehead, eyes, cheekbones and upper lip. The local areas are often not congested, the surface is crusted but not keratinized, the edges are rolled up, and are waxy and translucent.

2. Differentiation from squamous cell carcinoma

Squamous cell carcinoma often occurs at the junction of skin and mucous membranes, limbs, lower lips, nose, ears, back of hands and genitals. It often occurs in areas with chronic skin lesions. It has obvious local congestion, obvious keratinization, high and hard edges, obvious inflammatory reaction, and is prone to lymph node metastasis.

3. Differentiation from seborrheic keratosis

Rheumatic keratosis is common in men over 50 years old, and is often found on the face, neck, chest, back and backs of hands. The lesions are round or oval flat wart-like rashes that are slightly higher than the skin and covered with greasy scaly crusts. The number of rashes is large.

4. Differentiation from discoid lupus erythematosus

Discoid lupus erythematosus lesions are small papules at the onset, gradually expanding into plaques, dry in nature, with hyperkeratinized surface, atrophic spots, no ulceration, and often congested edges.
