6 major symptoms of ovarian cancer

Ovarian cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the female reproductive system. Because the ovaries are located deep in the abdominal cavity and lack specific physical signs, they are easily misdiagnosed as other reproductive system diseases or abdominal diseases, delaying the early treatment of the disease. Therefore, when the body has the following symptoms, be highly alert to the presence of ovarian cancer.

1. Gradually decreasing menstrual volume or amenorrhea

Ovarian disease can cause changes in menstrual volume. Ovarian cancer patients often have menstrual irregularities, which can manifest as changes in the menstrual cycle or menstrual volume, which can gradually decrease in menstrual volume or even amenorrhea.

2. Sex hormone disorder

The pathological types of ovarian cancer are complex and varied. Some tumors can secrete excessive estrogen, causing menstrual disorders or postmenopausal vaginal bleeding in patients; some tumors can secrete excessive androgen, causing patients to have masculine characteristics.

3. Abdominal pain and back pain

The ovaries are located deep in the pelvic cavity. When cancer cells infiltrate surrounding tissues and organs or adhere to adjacent tissues, they can compress nerves and cause abdominal and back pain. The pain can be dull, dull, or severe.

4. Abdominal bloating

Most ovarian cancer patients experience varying degrees of abdominal distension, which is caused by direct compression or pulling of the surrounding ligaments by the tumor. In addition, the production of ascites can also cause or aggravate the feeling of abdominal distension. Therefore, when menopausal women experience unexplained abdominal distension, they should be highly alert to ovarian cancer and undergo gynecological examinations in a timely manner to confirm the diagnosis or exclude the diagnosis.

5. Edema of lower limbs and vulva

Ovarian cancer gradually grows and becomes fixed in the pelvic cavity, affecting the pelvic venous and lymphatic return, causing edema of the patient's vulva and lower limbs.

6. Weight loss

After ascites is formed due to ovarian cancer, it mechanically compresses the gastrointestinal tract, causing the patient to eat less and suffer from indigestion. In addition, the cancer-related consumption makes the patient increasingly thin and tired.
