Analysis of several common symptoms of esophageal cancer

There are many diseases that may occur in the esophagus, and esophageal cancer is one of the most common diseases. Most people don't know much about the symptoms of esophageal cancer . Next, let's learn about it from the following article.

1. Symptoms of esophageal cancer include difficulty swallowing. Since the esophageal wall is elastic and expandable, difficulty swallowing only occurs when about 2/3 of the esophageal circumference is infiltrated by the tumor. Although early esophageal cancer is small, as the tumor grows, patients often experience inflammation, edema, and spasm of the esophageal wall, which can aggravate difficulty swallowing. Therefore, the proportion of patients with advanced esophageal cancer who experience difficulty swallowing is relatively high, and it seriously endangers the quality of life of patients with advanced esophageal cancer.

2. Food reflux is also one of the symptoms of esophageal cancer. In the late stage of esophageal cancer, food reflux often causes bleeding when the difficulty in swallowing worsens. The reflux volume is not large and contains food and mucus, and may also contain blood and pus.

3. Late-stage esophageal cancer can infiltrate the esophagus and invade the mediastinum, trachea, bronchi, lungs, pericardium, large blood vessels, etc. Symptoms of esophageal cancer can also cause mediastinitis, lung abscess, esophageal tracheal fistula, and fatal bleeding.

4. In the late stage of esophageal cancer, symptoms of esophageal obstruction may occur, causing the patient to lose appetite and exhaustion, and eventually cachexia may occur due to malnutrition.

The above are all symptoms of esophageal cancer. I hope it can help everyone understand what esophageal cancer is like. If you have other questions about esophageal cancer, you can contact our online experts to answer your questions.
