Is laundry detergent harmful to the body?

When washing clothes, if you use water alone, the effect is often not so obvious, and stubborn stains on the clothes are difficult to remove. Therefore, you need to use some laundry detergent to wash the clothes. You can see that the stains on the clothes are significantly faded, and the clothes can be made as white as new. However, different brands of laundry detergent are mixed with different materials, so they will have different effects on the human body. So, will laundry detergent cause harm to the body?

The harm of washing powder to us:

Washing powder is a synthetic industrial product, and the ingredients of each brand are different, so it is relatively dangerous. Most laundry detergents contain surfactants, which can cause chemicals to enter the microcirculation through the skin. There may not be any reaction in the short term, but I think that over time it will cause the level of certain chemical substances in the body to increase. In short, there are safety risks. When we grab laundry detergent with wet hands, we can feel that the detergent is releasing heat. This is because the alkaline substances and other chemicals in the detergent are harming our skin.

For housewives who are often exposed to laundry detergent, its harm is more obvious. Washing powder can easily cause women to suffer from breast cancer, multiple uterine fibroids, infertility, and accelerate the occurrence of blood circulation diseases such as arteriosclerosis, hypertension, and myocardial infarction.

Experts point out that the surfactants, brighteners and builders added to many laundry detergents can also irritate the skin and have an impact on health. Commonly used detergents are harmful to the human liver, and surfactants can damage the skin's stratum corneum and make the skin rough. In addition, excessive synthetic fragrances have a strong odor and often cause allergies in some people. Fluorescent whitening agent itself is a toxic substance. If it enters the human body too much, it will cause great harm to health. After entering the human body, fluorescent agents and whitening agents are not easily decomposed like general chemical components, but accumulate in the human body, greatly reducing the body's immunity. Fluorescent agents combine with proteins outside the wound and hinder wound healing. Fluorescent agents can also cause human cells to tend to mutate, and their toxicity accumulates in the liver or other important organs, becoming a potential carcinogenic factor.
