Experts explain the key points of prostate cancer diagnosis

Prostate cancer is a malignant tumor that can have a serious impact on men's overall health and is a major killer of men. What are the common diagnostic points for prostate cancer ? Here are some common diagnostic points for prostate cancer.

In general, the common diagnostic points of prostate cancer are:

(1) Acid phosphatase test: The diagnosis of prostate cancer should be performed 24 hours after rectal examination and urethral examination. 80% of prostate cancer patients with distant metastasis have elevated acid phosphatase, while 20% of patients without distant metastasis have elevated acid phosphatase. Therefore, a significant increase in serum acid phosphatase indicates the possibility of prostate cancer.

(2) Serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) measurement. This test should be performed one week after rectal examination and urethral examination. It is a common method for diagnosing prostate cancer. Prostate-specific antigen is a more sensitive tumor marker than acid phosphatase. It is of great significance for the diagnosis, clinical staging, efficacy observation, prognosis judgment and recurrence monitoring of prostate cancer.

(3) X-ray examination. Pelvic and lumbar spine radiographs are important examinations for diagnosing whether the cancer has metastasized. Sometimes, this method of diagnosing prostate cancer can also be used for vasoconstriction. Cystourethrography of prostate cancer shows a lack of normal prostate curves, accompanied by urethral stiffness and stenosis. When the bladder is invaded, irregular filling defects can be seen at the bottom of the bladder.

(4) Rectal examination is very important for the diagnosis of prostate cancer. It may manifest as irregular prostate capsule and palpable hard stone-like masses. If the seminal vesicles are involved, it is highly suspicious. The masses vary in size and should be differentiated from prostate tuberculosis and stones.

The above is an introduction to the common diagnostic methods for prostate cancer. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Once you are diagnosed with prostate cancer, you must go to the hospital for treatment immediately to avoid delaying the disease.
