Analysis of the main cancer metastasis pathways of renal cancer

Cancer metastasis is the biggest problem that bothers patients. There are many ways for kidney cancer to metastasize , and no matter what the cause is, it will bring great difficulties to treatment. Let us now understand the ways in which kidney cancer metastasizes.

The first is direct infiltration: renal cancer gradually grows larger, breaks through the tumor capsule and spreads in all directions, invading the renal pelvis inward, breaking through the renal capsule outward to invade the perirenal fat and fascia, and spreading to adjacent tissues such as the colon, adrenal glands, liver, spleen and diaphragm.

Secondly, lymph nodes are also an important metastatic pathway for renal cancer: according to statistics, 15% to 30% of renal cancer can metastasize via the lymph nodes. On the left side, it metastasizes to the renal pedicle, the preaortic and left lateral lymph nodes; on the right side, it involves the renal hilum, the pre-inferior vena cava lymph nodes, and the lymph nodes between the aorta and the inferior vena cava.

Blood metastasis is also one of the most common metastatic pathways of renal cancer: cancer cells invade veins from capillaries and intrarenal veins to the renal veins, forming tumor thrombi in the veins, which can further extend into the inferior vena cava to reach the right atrium, and to the lungs, iliac bones and other organs, causing extensive blood metastasis.

The above are the common ways of renal cancer metastasis. It is hoped that by understanding this knowledge, it will help patients pay attention to the pathways and sites that are prone to renal cancer metastasis during treatment, and effectively carry out new prevention.
