Complementary food for babies with eczema

The baby's health is what parents care about most. Only if you have a healthy body can you have the ability to do other things. Eczema is a common disease in babies. Once it occurs, it can be treated by applying ointment. Other medications may also be used, but they must be appropriate for the baby's age. There are some things to be careful about when adding complementary foods to babies with eczema. What should you pay attention to when adding complementary foods to babies with eczema?

How to add complementary food to babies with eczema:

Adding complementary foods to babies is a difficult task for new parents, but adding complementary foods to babies with eczema is like adding insult to injury and makes it even more difficult. We are very cautious when adding complementary foods, but we cannot stop adding complementary foods to the baby just because the baby's eczema is severe. The consequences of stopping eating because of fear are very serious. Only by adding complementary foods in time can the baby have adequate nutrition to grow up healthy and strong. However, the addition of complementary foods must not only be gradual, following the principle of adding a single variety in small amounts, but also the complementary foods must be increased step by step from thin to dry, from fine to coarse, from soft to hard, and from light to thick, so that the baby has a period of gradual adaptation.

Symptoms include:

① Skin and mucous membranes: The most common symptom is urticaria, which is manifested by the sudden appearance of red patches on the local or whole body skin, accompanied by obvious itching. It may also manifest as erythema, dry and rough skin, red and swollen conjunctiva, damaged and detached mucous membranes, etc.

② Digestive tract: such as indigestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, or even allergic enteritis leading to intestinal mucosal damage and bloody stools.

③ Respiratory system: Mild symptoms include nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, snoring during sleep, etc. Severe cases include asthma. Some individuals with severe conditions may die from bronchospasm, suffocation or anaphylactic shock.

What is the substitute for food if I am allergic to it?

There are complementary foods that do not contain eggs, milk, or wheat, such as many brands of gluten-free diets, which contain no gluten at all, such as cornmeal, rice noodles, rice flour, mashed potatoes, and other foods. A gluten-free diet is necessary for some babies with allergies. It not only helps babies avoid problems like celiac disease, eczema, etc., but also benefits babies with immune and neurological disorders. Hypoallergenic complementary foods are more popular abroad, but they are often quite expensive, often three times the price of ordinary baby complementary foods. In addition, many foreign brands of hypoallergenic complementary foods are produced domestically. Therefore, domestic gluten-free complementary food manufacturers should also take on the responsibility of ensuring that babies eat well and can afford them. Domestic baby whole grain noodles, baby short noodles, wheat-free flour, pure corn biscuits, potato biscuits, etc. have become the best choices for babies with allergies.
