Liver disease is a very scary disease. There are many types of it. It can be simply divided into hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, hepatitis B, hepatitis E, etc. These liver diseases have a latent period and are not easy to be detected by people in the early stages. Therefore, these liver diseases are very harmful. Many people in our daily lives lack medical knowledge and do not understand the severity of these liver diseases. So, which one is more serious among hepatitis A, B, C, D and E? Which of these hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E is more serious? We cannot simply say which condition is more serious. Each disease may lead to very serious adverse clinical consequences, so we cannot simply use the disease type to say which disease is more serious. For example, hepatitis A is not currently chronic, but severe hepatitis A can also lead to liver failure and even death. Chronic hepatitis B infection is relatively common, and the proportion of cases developing into cirrhosis and liver cancer is also relatively high. Are Hepatitis A and Hepatitis E serious? First of all, in terms of symptoms, most cases of hepatitis E have mild symptoms, and the jaundice is not as severe as that of hepatitis A. Other Differences Between Hepatitis E and Hepatitis A 1. From the perspective of the incubation period, the incubation period of hepatitis A is generally 15-45 days, while the incubation period of hepatitis E is longer, mostly 2-9 weeks, with an average of 6 weeks; 2. The age of onset is different. Hepatitis A has a higher incidence in children and adolescents, while hepatitis E has the highest incidence in adults over 20 years old; 3. Both hepatitis A and hepatitis E are mainly characterized by acute icteric type, but subacute severe type and acute cholestatic type of hepatitis E are more common than hepatitis A. In addition, itchy skin and grayish stools are also more common than hepatitis A. 4. From the perspective of pathological damage, hepatitis E is more obvious than hepatitis A and recovers slowly. The level and duration of serum bilirubin elevation are longer than those in hepatitis A. Therefore, although both types of viral hepatitis are transmitted through the fecal-oral route, they differ in age, certain clinical manifestations, liver function changes, and prognosis. |
