The best way to remove gallstones

Because gallstones are a disease that can seriously affect people's lives, patients with gallstones are eager to have the stones in their gallbladders discharged as soon as possible. However, gallstones are not as easy to excrete as explained in other areas because they are somewhat far away from the human urinary system. Many people have heard that the best treatment for gallstones is surgery, so what are the best treatments for gallstones?

Best treatment for gallstones

First of all, it is discovered that the most common treatment for gallstones is surgery. With the development of science and technology, many surgical treatment methods have emerged, including traditional open surgery and minimally invasive surgery, so patients don’t have to worry at all, the effects are good.

Drug treatment: Drug treatment can only relieve symptoms and serve as an auxiliary treatment, but it is not very effective in curing gallstones. Moreover, long-term medication will increase the burden on the liver and may cause more complications.

Extracorporeal ultrasonic lithotripsy: Because high-energy shock waves can cause great damage to the kidneys, the most significant long-term complication is kidney damage, such as renal atrophy, loss of renal function, and the deterioration of related renal function indicators. Patients with poor renal function should not use this treatment method.

Surgical treatment: The traditional method is to remove the gallbladder, but the gallbladder is the human body's digestive organ and has very important functions. It is irreplaceable. Once removed, the patient will experience adverse symptoms. If the patient's gallbladder is not already diseased or non-functional, it is best not to perform resection.

Anshi: This treatment method is conservative, which is to let patients with gallstones take drugs that promote choleretics, reduce inflammation, clear away heat and dampness. This can relieve the symptoms of gallstones. This is more suitable for patients whose stones are not yet impacted, whose condition is not very serious, or who have cardiovascular problems and cannot undergo surgery. Compared with surgical treatment, conservative treatment causes less pain to patients, is low in cost and is safer. The disadvantage is that the stones are still in the body and once they become impacted, they may cause serious infection.

Stone removal. This is a method of treating gallstones that combines traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. The most commonly used stone removal methods include general attack and flat pressure. It is more suitable for patients with good gallbladder function, wide bile duct, small number of smaller stones. Generally, common bile duct stones do not exceed 1.5 cm, and gallbladder stones do not exceed 0.5 cm.

Lithotripsy: A method of using a special lithotripsy machine to emit shock waves of a certain frequency to break up stones. It is suitable for no more than 3 medium-sized stones (about 2.0 cm in diameter). Lithotripsy is currently a mainstream method for treating gallstones, and its clearance rate is the highest among the three methods.

To treat gallstones, especially for patients with less serious gallstones and stones no larger than two centimeters, lithotripsy, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, or surgical treatment can be used, which are also the traditional conservative treatment methods.

There are also many ways to prevent and treat gallstones in life. To prevent gallstones, you should pay attention to dietary adjustment and have a diverse diet. Vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, fish and seafood can dissolve gallstones, so you can eat more of them.
