What to do if tuberculosis bleeds

The main symptom of tuberculosis in the human body is coughing. Most people who suffer from tuberculosis will feel itchy throat and lungs, which makes people want to cough. However, after suffering from tuberculosis, you must use medication to control the progression of your disease. Otherwise, when tuberculosis reaches a serious stage, the cough will intensify, and some people will even cough up blood. So what should you do if you cough up blood due to tuberculosis?

What to do if tuberculosis causes coughing and bleeding?

The main treatment is chemotherapy, and the commonly used drugs are isoniazid, rifampicin, streptomycin, pyrazinoline, ethambutol and thiosemicarbazone. The application of chemotherapy should follow the following five principles: ① Early stage. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, take the medicine immediately; ②Combination use. Combined use of two or more anti-tuberculosis drugs to ensure efficacy, prevent drug resistance, and reduce toxic side effects; ③ Appropriate amount. ④Regularities. Avoid omissions and interruptions; ⑤ The whole process. Generally, you need to take the medicine for more than one year before you can stop taking it.

Anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy plays a decisive role in the control of tuberculosis. Reasonable chemotherapy can sterilize and cure all symptoms of the disease. Traditional rest and nutrition play a supporting role.

(Disease diagnosis and classification and staging standards)

Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that can affect multiple organs throughout the body; however, pulmonary tuberculosis is the most common. Patients with bacterial excretion are sources of social infection. A person does not necessarily develop tuberculosis disease after being infected with tuberculosis bacteria. The disease only occurs when the body's resistance is low. The pathological characteristics of this disease are tuberculous nodules and caseous necrosis, which are prone to form cavities. Except for a few cases with acute onset, most of them present as chronic courses clinically. There are often systemic symptoms such as low fever and fatigue, and respiratory system manifestations such as cough and hemoptysis. Although the overall tuberculosis epidemic in my country has declined since the 1950s, due to the large population and uneven epidemic control in various regions, it is still an important public health issue and one of the top ten causes of death in the country, which should cause our serious concern.

How to care for tuberculosis?

(1) Proper rest: Children with pulmonary tuberculosis should stay in bed and rest, and avoid jumping. They can exercise appropriately after the acute phase.

(2) The bedroom should be well ventilated to keep the air fresh, but avoid convection wind to prevent colds. Because children often suffer from night sweats, their clothes and bedding should be changed frequently.

(3) Cough and expectorant: When the cough is severe, appropriate cough and expectorant drugs should be taken orally to avoid severe coughing and prevent phlegm and blood clots from blocking larger airways and causing suffocation.

(4) A reasonable diet: Because tuberculosis is a chronic wasting disease that consumes a lot of physical energy, children should be given a high-protein, high-calorie diet as well as fresh fruits and vegetables to help them recover as soon as possible.

Tuberculosis is a curable disease, and bleeding and coughing up blood does not mean that the disease has worsened, so there is no need for patients to panic. They should follow the doctor's instructions for treatment and strive to recover as soon as possible.
