Total bilirubin 32

Total bilirubin 32

Normally when we check liver function or gallbladder function, we will test total bilirubin, which can also accurately reflect the degree of jaundice. Total bilirubin is divided into direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin. Total bilirubin is generally increased, which can be divided into physiological increase and pathological increase. Some patients have a total bilirubin of 32 and are not very aware of their own physical condition. Let’s take a look below.

Normal total bilirubin TBIL3.0-20.0umol/L. Patients with high bilirubin are advised to check alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. If these two items are elevated, antiviral treatment is required; if alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase are within the normal range and bilirubin is high, no treatment is temporarily required. Pay attention to rest, eat a balanced diet, check liver function regularly, and monitor the development of the disease at all times. Liver function tests are recommended.

Clinical significance of total bilirubin

The determination of serum total bilirubin is an important test item in liver and gallbladder function examination. It can accurately reflect the degree of jaundice and is of great significance for the clinical diagnosis of latent jaundice.

1. Physiological increase: Newborns will experience physiological jaundice without any other discomfort, and the jaundice will disappear on its own after about a week. Long-term drinking, strenuous exercise, etc. may also cause increased total bilirubin. High total bilirubin levels caused by physiological reasons will generally recover on their own after adjustment.

2. Pathological increase: common in diseases such as hepatitis, obstructive jaundice, cirrhosis, neonatal pathological jaundice, cholelithiasis, pancreatic head cancer, hemolytic jaundice, etc. Patients should pay great attention to it, go to the hospital for treatment in time, seize the best time for treatment, grasp the development trend of the disease, detect the development and changes of the disease, and have a comprehensive understanding of their own condition.
