What does weak positive leucorrhea mean

Leucorrhea is a common secretion in the female vagina. It is also the standard for us to judge whether female friends have abnormal leucorrhea, vaginitis and other diseases. Therefore, when we do routine examinations and find that the leucorrhea is weakly positive, this may be due to vaginal infection. You should pay attention to your personal hygiene. Let us understand how many degrees it generally has when the leucorrhea is weakly positive during routine examinations.

Leucorrhea is a female vaginal discharge, which is a mixture of vaginal mucosal exudates, cervical canal and endometrial gland secretions. Its formation is related to the action of estrogen. Under normal circumstances, the quality and quantity of leucorrhea changes with the menstrual cycle. After the menstruation is over, the leucorrhea is less in amount, white in color and in a paste form. In the middle of the menstrual cycle when the ovaries are about to ovulate, due to the vigorous secretion of the cervical glands, the leucorrhea increases and becomes transparent, slightly sticky, and egg white-like. 2 to 3 days after ovulation, the leucorrhea becomes turbid, thick and sticky but with less amount. Before and after menstruation, due to pelvic congestion, vaginal mucosal exudate increases and leucorrhea often increases.

Routine examination

1. pH value pH value test is an important examination item for abnormal leucorrhea. The normal pH value of the vagina is between 3.8 and 4.4, which is slightly acidic and can prevent pathogenic bacteria from multiplying in the vagina. The vaginal pH of patients with Trichomonas vaginitis is 5.0-6.5. The vaginal pH of patients with bacterial vaginosis is >4.5.

2. Leucorrhea cleanliness: Observe the vaginal secretion smear under a microscope and determine the vaginal cleanliness according to the number of vaginal bacilli, white blood cells (WBC) and miscellaneous bacteria. There are 4 levels:

Grade I: There are a large number of vaginal bacilli and epithelial cells, no miscellaneous bacteria or white blood cells, and the field of vision is clear, indicating that it is normal secretions.

Grade II: There are moderate amounts of vaginal bacilli and epithelial cells, a small amount of white blood cells and miscellaneous bacteria, and it is still normal vaginal secretions.

Grade III: A small amount of vaginal bacilli and squamous epithelium, but a relatively large number of miscellaneous bacteria and white blood cells, indicating milder vaginal inflammation.

Grade IV: There are no vaginal bacilli, only a few epithelial cells, a large number of white blood cells and miscellaneous bacteria. It indicates relatively severe vaginal inflammation, such as candidal vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis.

Grades I to II are normal, while grades III to IV are abnormal leucorrhea, indicating vaginal inflammation.

3. Pathogenic microorganism examination: After the leucorrhea is processed, the presence of Trichomonas or fungi can be detected based on its morphology under a microscope. If Trichomonas or fungi are present, regardless of their quantity, they will be represented by "+", and if not, they will be represented by "-".

4. Amine test: The leucorrhea of patients with bacterial vaginosis may have a fishy odor, which is caused by the release of ammonia when amines meet alkali.

5. Clue cells Clue cells are specific signs of bacterial vaginosis. The diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis can be made based on a positive amine test and the presence of clue cells.
