The gallbladder is a very critical organ in the human body. It is mainly used for food digestion, etc. and plays a very important role in the human body's metabolism. If you have stomach discomfort and severe vomiting, you may even experience bile reflux. Bile reflux can make people feel bitter in their mouths and very uncomfortable in the abdomen. Many patients with bile reflux will suddenly lose weight. So, what should we do if patients with bile reflux lose weight rapidly?

Experts point out that bile reflux gastritis, also known as alkaline reflux gastritis, refers to a syndrome of upper abdominal pain, vomiting of bile, abdominal distension, weight loss and a series of symptoms caused by the reflux of bile into the stomach. Is bile reflux gastritis serious? Most patients with bile reflux gastritis complain of persistent burning pain in the upper and middle abdomen. The pain worsens after meals and cannot be relieved by taking alkaline drugs, or even worsens.

A small number of patients may experience pain behind the sternum or a feeling of indigestion in the stomach. Bile vomiting is its characteristic manifestation. Due to gastric emptying disorder, vomiting often occurs in the evening or midnight. The vomitus may be accompanied by food and occasionally a small amount of blood. Because patients are afraid that symptoms will get worse after eating, they reduce their food intake, which may lead to anemia, weight loss, malnutrition, and diarrhea.

Bile reflux gastritis refers to a pathophysiological phenomenon in which bile refluxes into the stomach, usually accompanied by pancreatic juice refluxes into the stomach. This phenomenon exists in normal people. Mild reflux helps reduce gastric acidity, but excessive reflux will damage the gastric mucosa. After partial gastrectomy and cholecystectomy, most patients experience bile reflux.

Is bile reflux gastritis serious? It is currently believed that bile reflux can lead to upper gastrointestinal inflammation, ulcers and tumors. In other words, long-term bile reflux can lead to esophagitis, gastric mucosal erosion, hyperplasia, active inflammation, gastric ulcers, and even promote the occurrence of gastric cancer. It is closely related to the occurrence of upper gastrointestinal inflammation, ulcers, and tumors.

Although bile reflux gastritis generally causes weight loss, there is no need to worry too much. As long as you control your diet, eat a balanced diet, eat more fresh and nutritious foods, and avoid spicy and heavy-tasting foods, there will be no problem in controlling your weight.
