What are photosensitive foods?

Some people have very sensitive skin. If they are exposed to ultraviolet rays and stay outside for a long time, not only will the skin on their face become darker and age faster, but they may even develop many black spots, seriously affecting the beauty of their appearance. People with this kind of skin should especially pay attention to eating less photosensitive foods, otherwise it will cause more spots to appear on the face and cause the skin to age faster. So, which foods are photosensitive foods?

1. Dark, fried foods

Dark foods also include staple foods such as purple rice, black beans, red beans, green beans, red water chestnuts, black sesame seeds, walnuts, black-bone chicken, beef, mutton, pork liver, turtle, dark-fleshed fish, sea cucumbers and other meats; fried foods are a favorite of many people, but eating fried foods that smell spicy and delicious can be very harmful; fried foods not only make you fat easily, but the oxides they contain will accelerate skin aging, so you should try to eat less.

2. Photosensitive vegetables

Photosensitive foods can easily make the skin darker, because they are rich in metal elements such as copper, iron, zinc, etc. These metal elements can directly or indirectly increase the amount and activity of substances such as tyrosine, tyrosinase and dopamine quinone related to the production of melanin. Eating more of these foods will make the skin more vulnerable to ultraviolet rays and darken or develop spots, so you should consume them in moderation; sweet potatoes, potatoes, spinach, leeks, celery, coriander, white radish, beans, etc., these vegetables make the skin prone to spots more likely to develop spots.

Generally speaking, most vegetables that emit volatile pungent and special smells are photosensitive vegetables.

3. Strong acidic foods

Carrots, spinach, purple radish, purple cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, black fungus, etc. These vegetables make it easier for spots to develop on the skin that is prone to spots. The body fluids of a healthy human body are weakly alkaline. If the intake of acidic and alkaline foods is unbalanced, the blood will tend to be acidic, causing various discomforts to the body and promoting the formation of skin pigmentation spots.

If your skin is sensitive, you should eat less dark-colored foods, photosensitive vegetables, and highly acidic foods. If you eat such foods, you must apply sunscreen when going out, wear sunglasses and a sun hat, and take protective measures to avoid pigmentation on the skin, which will accelerate skin aging.
