Why do I have to push hard to pee?

Why do I have to push hard to pee?

Some people may encounter difficulty urinating and need to strain to urinate. If this problem occurs frequently, you should consider that there may be something wrong with your body. Generally, difficulty urinating and urinating are related to illness. In mild cases, there will be delayed urination and short urination. In severe cases, urination requires straining and the urine stream becomes thin and cannot form a line. If these symptoms occur, it is best to go to the hospital for examination and treatment to avoid affecting your health.

Dysuria can have mechanical causes. Any obstructive disease below the bladder neck can cause dysuria. These diseases mainly include: bladder neck obstruction, prostatic hyperplasia, bladder and urethral stones, bladder and urethral tumors, urethral stenosis, urethral valves, bladder and urethral stones and foreign bodies, obstruction caused by tumor compression of organs adjacent to the bladder, urethral stenosis, etc.

Dysuria can also be due to dynamic causes. This may involve either neurological dysfunction or bladder detrusor dysfunction. Causes of nervous system dysfunction include: neurogenic bladder, post-anesthesia, spinal cord disease (including malformations, injuries, tumors, etc.), complications of advanced diabetes, etc. Causes of bladder detrusor dysfunction include diabetes, detrusor-sphincter dysfunction, etc.

Some dysuria may be caused by the above two reasons. In the early stage, the main cause may be mechanical, while in the late stage, dynamic disorders may occur. For example, in the case of prostatic hyperplasia, in the early stage, urination difficulties may be caused by obstruction caused by the enlarged prostate. If it is not treated in time, it may lead to damage to the bladder detrusor muscle in the later stage, causing dynamic urination difficulties.
