How to care for lung cancer in the late stage? Seven measures to care for lung cancer in the late stage

As people's pace of life accelerates, many people simply pursue the comfort of life, but pay less attention to their physical health. Many people did not seek medical treatment in time when they were diagnosed with lung cancer in the early stage, and were heartbroken when they were diagnosed with advanced lung cancer in the later stage. In order to help patients relieve their pain, today experts will introduce seven measures for nursing in the late stage of lung cancer.

1. Psychological care. The mental state of patients with advanced lung cancer is relatively fragile, so the family members of the patients can try to conceal and comfort them as much as possible, so that they can spend the rest of their lives as quietly as possible. This will not only enable the patients to better face diagnosis and treatment, but also help to establish a good doctor-patient relationship and increase the patients' compliance with treatment.

2. Closely monitor the condition. Patients with advanced lung cancer often experience tumor metastasis and a variety of symptoms after tumor metastasis. For example, after liver and brain metastasis, patients may experience blurred vision, convulsions and coma. At this time, patients and their families need to observe the condition at all times and take appropriate nursing measures in a timely manner. For example, when bone metastasis occurs, it is necessary to strengthen the protection of the patient's limbs.

3. Fever and irritating cough are common symptoms in patients with advanced lung cancer. When fever occurs, patients need to keep warm and effectively prevent colds to prevent pneumonia; if irritating cough occurs, antitussive drugs can be used for treatment. Patients who cough at night need to drink hot water to reduce the irritation of the throat caused by coughing. If a small amount of hemoptysis occurs, hemostatic drugs can be taken. When a large amount of hemoptysis occurs, the patient's head needs to be tilted to one side to prevent congestion from causing suffocation of the patient, and the doctor should be notified in time for rescue.

4. For patients with advanced lung cancer who have hemoptysis, the amount of hemoptysis should be observed. In case of severe hemoptysis, the patient's head should be tilted to one side, and the patient should be allowed to cough up the blood gently. The patient should be comforted and calmed down in a timely manner. Once the signs of suffocation are observed, emergency measures should be taken in time or the patient should be rushed to the hospital.

5. Patients with advanced lung cancer who develop superior vena cava compression syndrome should be allowed to rest in a semi-recumbent position. If a patient develops Horner syndrome, the attending physician should be contacted promptly.

6. Lung cancer patients in the advanced stage have poor nutritional status, and are prone to systemic edema and bedsores. In the nursing methods for advanced lung cancer, patients need to change their body positions regularly to reduce local pressure on the body. When necessary, they can use air rings, cushions, etc. to pad the pressure parts of the body. Patients should also pay attention to keeping their skin clean. For patients with incontinence, they also need to keep the bed flat and clean. If the skin is ulcerated, a heat lamp can be used to keep the local skin dry.

7. Diet care. Lung cancer patients in the advanced stage often have obvious gastrointestinal reactions after radiotherapy and chemotherapy, such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, etc., which seriously affect the patient's appetite and nutritional status. Therefore, after radiotherapy and chemotherapy, a light, easily digestible, high-vitamin, high-protein diet should be given to enable the body to recover as soon as possible.
