What happens if synovitis becomes serious

There are many substances that make up the human body structure, and the material composition around the joints is also very complex, one of which is called synovial membrane. The main function of the synovium is to secrete mucus to make the joints better. However, if there is long-term joint damage or viral infection, it is easy to cause synovitis. Generally, mild synovitis can cause joint pain in the human body, but what consequences will severe synovitis lead to?

Synovitis refers to a group of syndromes caused by injury, infection and other adverse factors that cause synovial edema, exudation and joint effusion. The main symptoms of synovitis are joint pain, swelling and movement disorders. Severe cases can lead to joint deformities and cause the patient to completely lose the ability to move.

The knee joint is the joint with the most synovium in the human body, and it is also the main weight-bearing joint of the human body. It has a large amount of movement, so it is more susceptible to injury. Therefore, the incidence of knee synovitis is the highest. What are the hazards of long-term unhealed knee synovitis?

1. Knee synovitis can cause knee pain, affecting normal walking, squatting, and going up and down stairs. The knee joint should not be exposed to cold, otherwise the symptoms will worsen.

2. The hazards of knee synovitis also include swelling. Due to the increased secretion of synovial fluid and the obstruction of the synovial membrane's absorption of synovial fluid, the synovial fluid is retained in the synovial bursa, causing swelling and discomfort.

3. Knee synovitis can also endanger the knee joint movement function. After synovitis occurs, there will be obvious tenderness near the knee joint. The symptoms are more severe during the acute phase, but will be alleviated in the chronic phase. When the fluid accumulation in the knee joint cavity increases, there will be a fluctuating feeling. Due to swelling and pain, the knee joint movement function will also be limited, and some patients may experience limping.

In summary, if knee synovitis does not heal for a long time, it can cause severe knee pain, swelling and movement disorders, affecting the patient's normal work and life. Therefore, it is recommended that patients treat synovitis as early as possible and not delay it, and choose a quick and effective treatment. Synovitis can be divided into acute and chronic. Chronic synovitis is caused by long-term improper or untimely treatment of acute synovitis.
