When the concentration is higher than this value, the symptoms will be more obvious, manifested as chest tightness, nausea, coughing, and vomiting. In severe cases, problems such as asthma and pulmonary edema may occur.

3. When the formaldehyde content in each cubic meter of air reaches 0.5mg/m3, the eyes will be obviously irritated and tears will appear.

4. When the formaldehyde content in each cubic meter of air reaches 0.1mg/m3, the air will have a distinct odor and there will be obvious discomfort when entering.

What to do if you are poisoned by formaldehyde

1. For those with mild poisoning, it is recommended to leave the environment containing formaldehyde immediately and change contaminated clothing. Rinse whole body with plenty of water immediately. And clean with soapy water or 2% sodium bicarbonate solution. If it gets into eyes accidentally, rinse with plenty of water.
