If you feel pain under your xiphoid process, you need to go to the hospital for a check-up, but many people do not pay much attention to the symptoms in their bodies. This is actually quite detrimental to their physical health, causing more diseases to occur in their bodies, and ultimately leading to their bodies being in a sub-healthy state for a long time, without any improvement at all. 1. Inflammatory irritation in the anorectum and surrounding areas Anal sinusitis, anal papillitis, perianal abscess, anal fistula, external hemorrhoid inflammation, ulcerative proctitis accompanied by rectal inflammatory exudate irritating the anus can also cause anal pain. 2. Anorectal irritation Anal fissure, anal fissure, anal foreign body injury, spicy food and stimulation can cause anal pain. 3. Sphincter spasm Anal fissures and internal hemorrhoids can cause spasms in the anal sphincter, leading to anal pain. 4. Anal thrombosis Prolapse of external and internal hemorrhoids accompanied by thrombosis can lead to anal pain. 5. Pressure on the anus and surrounding tissues In the late stages of anorectal cancer, cervical cancer, and prostate cancer, the anus and surrounding tissues are compressed, causing anal pain. 6. Anal scar pain Scar contracture or inflammatory irritation of the anus and rectum after various anorectal diseases surgery, especially postoperative stenosis, can cause anal pain. 7. Psychological and neurological factors Anal pain may be caused by neurosis, pudendal syndrome, etc. 1. Pain location Anal fissure pain is mostly in the anterior and posterior parts of the anal canal; external hemorrhoid thrombosis is mostly on both sides of the anus; pudendal syndrome is mostly in the anorectum, anterior vulva and sacrococcygeal region; advanced rectal cancer invading the anus may cause anorectal, anterior vulva and sacrococcygeal pain; neuralgic pain has no fixed location. 2. Pain duration Anal fissure, anal sinusitis, and anal papillitis often occur during and after bowel movements. Perianal abscess, incarcerated internal hemorrhoids, thrombosed external hemorrhoids, inflammatory external hemorrhoids, advanced anorectal cancer, foreign body injury, and postoperative pain are continuous; anal fissure is intermittent; neuralgia is irregular; and scar pain is often related to weather changes. 3. Nature of pain Anal fissure causes stinging pain during defecation, and burning or knife-like pain after defecation; perianal abscess causes burning pain in the early stage, and throbbing pain when pus forms; late-stage anal canal and rectal cancer causes heavy or cramping pain; proctitis causes heavy pain. 4. Pain level Sphincter spasm and foreign body injury cause severe pain, which worsens during defecation. |
