Does smoking harm the kidneys?

Everyone knows the harm of smoking, but in life, it is difficult for us to stay away from the harm of cigarettes. But if you understand it carefully, you can control the number of times you smoke. The biggest harm of smoking is actually its impact on our lungs. If you smoke for a long time, it is easy to increase the risk of lung cancer. In addition to the lungs, blood vessels, and the brain are also affected. So, does smoking damage your kidneys?

Smoking is harmful, not only to human health, but also to society. Any organized organism must breathe, exhale carbon dioxide in the body, inhale oxygen in the air, and carry out metabolism to maintain normal life activities as long as it shows signs of life. People who do not smoke can breathe in a lot of fresh air every day; but people who smoke frequently cannot enjoy the blessing of nature. What they breathe in is not fresh air, but toxic gases polluted by smoke.

Tobacco leaves contain the toxic substance nicotine, also known as nicotine. 1 gram of nicotine can kill 300 rabbits or 500 mice. If 50 mg of nicotine is injected into a person, it will be fatal.

Smoking is the most harmful to the respiratory tract and can easily cause laryngitis, tracheitis, emphysema and other coughing diseases. When smoking, smoke enters the mouth, passes through the throat, trachea, bronchi, and enters the blood.

Men: Nicotine in tobacco can inhibit the secretion of sex hormones and kill sperm. At the same time, nicotine in tobacco can hinder the combination of sperm and egg, greatly reducing the chances of women becoming pregnant. Studies have found that smoking can also cause impotence.

Women: Tobacco is more likely to affect physiology, causing symptoms such as menstrual disorders, miscarriage, and early menopause, and making postmenopausal osteoporosis symptoms more severe.

It is a well-known fact that smoking is harmful to health. Different cigarettes release different chemicals when they are lit, but the main chemicals are tar and carbon monoxide. The substances harmful to the human body produced by burning cigarettes can be roughly divided into six categories:

(1) Aldehydes, nitrides, and olefins are irritants to the respiratory tract.

(2) Nicotine, which can stimulate the sympathetic nerves and make smokers dependent.

(3) Amines, cyanides and heavy metals are all toxic substances.

(4) Benzopyrene, arsenic, cadmium, methylhydrazine, aminophenol and other radioactive substances are all carcinogenic.

(5) Phenolic compounds and formaldehyde, etc., have the effect of accelerating carcinogenesis.

(6) Carbon monoxide reduces the ability of red blood cells to transport oxygen throughout the body.

One more thing! Smoking produces radiation. Cigarettes themselves contain a large number of carcinogens or toxic substances, of which at least 250 are known. But the most worrying thing now is polonium 210, a radioactive substance. If you smoke a pack and a half of cigarettes a day, the amount of radiation you receive in a year is equivalent to 300 chest X-rays.
