Is oral gland duct inflammation contagious?

Is oral gland duct inflammation contagious?

When the oral glands are inflamed, you should consider whether it is caused by getting angry. Generally, stomach fire is relatively strong, which can easily cause oral gland inflammation. In life, you should pay special attention to not eating spicy and irritating foods, prohibit smoking and drinking, maintain a regular schedule and eat more vegetables and fruits. If the oral gland inflammation is more serious, you can take some anti-inflammatory drugs, so that you can get better faster. So what else should we pay attention to when the oral glands are inflamed?

Considering the combination of Chinese and Western medicine, Chinese medicine treatment has great advantages. On the one hand, Chinese medicine has a good effect on both bacteria and viruses (Western medicine is effective for bacterial infections, but not very effective for viruses), and Chinese medicine does not have the embarrassment of drug resistance, so the effect is much better. On the other hand, Chinese medicine can reduce swelling and relieve pain. If it is used together with Western medicine antibiotics, the effect will be much better.

Major salivary glands

1. Parotid gland

The parotid gland is irregular in shape and is divided into superficial and deep parts. The superficial sinus is slightly triangular in shape, extending from the zygomatic arch to the mandibular angle, and from the superficial surface of the posterior 1/3 of the masseter muscle in front to the deep part of the scrotal gland. The deep part extends into the retromandibular fossa between the mandibular ramus and the sternocleidomastoid muscle. The parotid duct originates from the anterior part of the parotid gland, one finger width below the zygomatic arch, crosses the superficial surface of the masseter muscle, passes through the buccinator muscle and opens into the parotid duct papilla on the buccal mucosa opposite the second maxillary molar. Located between the front edge of the superficial parotid gland and the front edge of the masseter muscle, and above the beginning of the parotid duct, there may be accessory parotid glands that are completely separated from the parotid tissue. They are mostly oval in shape, and their ducts merge into the parotid duct. The incidence rate is 35%.

2. Submandibular gland

The submandibular gland is located in the submandibular triangle formed by the lower edge of the mandible and the anterior and posterior belly of the digastric muscle. Its duct emerges from the inner side of the gland, runs along the deep side of the oral floor mucosa, and opens into the sublingual caruncle.

3. Sublingual gland

The sublingual gland is smaller, oblong and located deep in the submandibular fold of the floor of the mouth. There are two types of ducts, large and small. There is one large duct, which opens at the sublingual caruncle together with the submandibular gland duct. There are about 10 small ducts, which open on the surface of the sublingual fold.

Treatment

1. It may be a mucocele or obstructive sialadenitis.

2. The cause of mucous gland cyst is that this part was bitten before, the outlet of salivary gland was damaged, and then the scar repaired, which made the salivary gland unable to excrete saliva, and there would be a rise and fall. It is recommended to go to oral surgery for examination. If it is, it is generally necessary to remove it under local anesthesia, the cost is about 200 yuan, and it is not very painful. If it is not removed, it will swell repeatedly.

3. Obstructive submandibular gland or sublingual gland is caused by foreign matter or solid blockage, which leads to poor saliva secretion. Generally, X-ray examination is required, which costs about 100 yuan. Generally, surgical removal is required, which costs about 500 yuan. It is also removed under local anesthesia in the outpatient clinic.
