I often hear people complain that "I had a lot of dreams all night and didn't get a good night's rest" and "I had so many dreams at night that I couldn't fall asleep." So is it really dreaming that delays our rest? Is dreaming a sign that the brain has not rested or has not rested well? This idea is wrong. Dreaming and being able to recall dreams is not an indicator of shallow sleep, nor does dreaming mean that you did not sleep well. In fact, dreaming is a physiological phenomenon. Whether you have dream memories or not, you will definitely dream 4 to 5 times every night. Therefore, it is unrealistic to say that we dream all night or not, and it is also impossible to say whether we dream more or less. Studies have shown that there is no necessary connection between dream perception and the degree of insomnia. In other words, the presence or absence of dream sensation and the degree of dream sensation cannot be used as an objective indicator of whether or not there is insomnia and the degree of insomnia.
