How to Remove Old Blood Stains

How to Remove Old Blood Stains

In our daily life or work, it is inevitable that we will bump into things. We may accidentally rub our hands, feet, arms and other parts of our body, causing broken skin and some small blood stains. If we accidentally get blood stains on our bodies, we should not be too afraid of cleaning the blood stains. As long as you use certain special methods for certain fabrics when dealing with blood stains, you can clean the blood stains on some clothes or other places.

Removal method:

1. If the blood stains have just been stained, rinse immediately with cold water or light salt water (Note: do not use hot water because the blood stains contain protein which will coagulate when exposed to heat and is not easy to dissolve), then wash with soap or 10% potassium iodide solution.

2. You can use white radish juice or mashed carrots mixed with salt to remove blood stains from clothes.

3. Wipe the stained area with 10% tartaric acid solution and then rinse with cold water.

4. Using enzyme laundry detergent to remove blood stains is very effective. As long as you have this kind of laundry detergent at home, this is the most convenient way.

5. If the stain has been there for a long time, wipe the stained area with 10% ammonia water or 3% hydrogen peroxide, and then rinse it with cold water after a while. If it is still not clean, wash it with 10-15% oxalic acid solution and finally rinse it with clean water.

6. Whether it is a new stain or an old stain, it can be cleaned by rubbing with sulfur soap.

method:

Clothes stained with blood should be washed immediately in cold water. Because when the blood has not coagulated, the iron in hemoglobin exists in the form of ferrous iron and is soluble in water. Over time, the ferrous iron in hemoglobin is oxidized into ferric iron and coagulates with protein, forming blood stains on fabrics that are difficult to wash off. Therefore, as soon as blood stains the surface, you should immediately wash it with cold water (never use hot water, because blood will coagulate when it encounters heat), and then wash it with soap or 10% potassium iodide solution to remove it. If the blood stains on the clothes have solidified and become old marks, they should be soaked in cold water for a long time first. Scrub to remove surface dirt. To remove blood stains between fibers, you can continue soaking and scrubbing with enzyme laundry detergent. The alkaline protease in enzyme laundry detergent can loosen and disintegrate the protein in the blood stains and peel them off the fabric. Then scrub with 10% to 15% oxalic acid solution for 1 to 2 minutes, because oxalic acid is a reducing agent, which can reduce water-insoluble trivalent iron to water-soluble divalent iron. Just wash with clean water to remove the stains. To wash old blood stains, you can also soak them in cold water for a long time first. After rubbing and milling, wipe the stained area with 10% tartaric acid solution or 10% ammonia water. Finally rinse with clean water.
