Can hemangioma disappear on its own?

As the name suggests, hemangioma is a tumor that grows on blood vessels. This disease often occurs in infants or young children. Moreover, this type of hemangioma will increase with age, and most hemangiomas cannot disappear on their own. If you find a hemangioma, you must go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time to avoid causing serious illness. In daily life, we must pay attention to the growth status of our children and make timely adjustments.

1. A very small number of hemangiomas may regress spontaneously. However, even after these hemangiomas completely disappear, they may still leave behind sagging skin, pigment changes, and superficial scars. Hemangiomas commonly referred to include true hemangiomas and vascular malformations. No matter which type of vascular malformation, once formed, it is impossible to heal on its own. Only a small number of infantile capillary hemangiomas will have their growth slowed down and tend to stabilize after six months or eight months. Later, due to slow blood flow and the formation of local blood clots, they will partially heal on their own. However: (1) Self-healing is often only partial, not complete. (2) The self-healing process takes a long time, usually delayed until the age of five or six, which is not conducive to the early psychological and physiological growth and development of infants and young children. (3) The part of the hemangioma that cannot heal on its own will age, cause pigmentation, and cause skin thickening if left for a long time, making subsequent treatment more difficult. (4) The presence of early hemangiomas has a great impact on the psychological and physiological development of infants and young children, and it is difficult for parents to accept it. Therefore, passive waiting is not worth the cost. Therefore, once a hemangioma is discovered, it is necessary to detect and treat it early. It is not advisable to passively wait for it to heal on its own. Various types of vascular malformations are impossible to heal on their own and must be treated as soon as possible.

2. Epidermal hemangioma is a common skin phenomenon in newborns. Generally, it will be gradually absorbed with the increase of age. By about one year old, it will be completely absorbed. At present, it will expand outward. As long as the local skin color becomes lighter, it is a sign of disappearance.

3. Hemangioma is generally a benign tumor that does not require treatment and will not disappear on its own. It can be treated by laser surgery.

4. Most hemangiomas will not disappear on their own and require treatment. It is recommended that you go to the dermatology department of a local children's hospital to check the hemangioma, classify it, determine the treatment plan and the best time for treatment, and follow the examination recommendations for treatment.
