What to do with wrist tenosynovitis

With the development of the economy, many professionals often need to work twice as hard in order to achieve better development in their professional fields, and they also face the possibility of suffering from professional diseases. For example, many teachers suffer from pharyngitis, and some staff who need to use their hands for a long time also face the possibility of suffering from wrist tenosynovitis. Tenosynovitis is often manifested as abnormal pain and difficulty in moving the affected area. So what should you do when you suffer from wrist tendonitis?

Let’s first understand the main causes of the disease:

It can be caused by injury, overuse (especially in the hands and fingers), osteoarthritis, some immune diseases, or even infection. Some occupations that require long-term repetitive strain on joints, such as typists, instrumentalists, cargo handlers, or industries that require long-term computer operation, can cause or aggravate this disease. Common affected areas include wrists, fingers, elbows, shoulders, etc. Women and diabetics are more likely to develop this disease. Patients will feel joint pain and morning stiffness. Usually the feeling of morning joint stiffness is most obvious after getting up, and the symptoms will not be significantly relieved with frequent activities. The affected joints are swollen and even snap, and joint movement is impaired.

Here are some treatments for wrist tendonitis:

1. Treatment with folk remedy: Use 50g of Earthworm, 35g of Pinellia ternata, 15g of Safflower, and 10g of Scorpion, grind them into fine powder, add rice wine and soak for 2 weeks, apply to the affected area until local fever occurs, it can promote blood circulation and reduce swelling.

2. Surgical treatment: The affected area can be treated with hot compresses and massage and sufficient rest for about 3 weeks, especially reducing manual labor that causes the disease. Local blockade therapy can relieve early-stage tenosynovitis and should be performed once a week. If the above methods are ineffective or recur, a tenotomy should be performed, and finger flexion and extension exercises should be performed early after the operation to prevent tendon adhesion. No manual labor is required within 1 month after surgery.

3. External application treatment: External application of the traditional Chinese medicine Shenggu Zhuifeng Patch regulates the body's yin and yang balance through the drug's meridian function, penetrates the epidermis, stimulates nerve endings, promotes local blood microcirculation, strengthens the body's constitution, and fundamentally and comprehensively targets the pathogenesis of tendon sheath cysts to exert its therapeutic effect, improve the nutrition of tissues around the lesion, play a role in repairing cell tissues, and ultimately achieve the treatment goal.

4. Acupuncture treatment: Acupuncture treatment of tenosynovitis is generally effective. The acupuncture method is to treat the root and knot of the meridians to which it belongs, with the five-shu points and collateral points as the main points, and local acupuncture is prohibited.

Daily care for wrist tenosynovitis:

1. Get rid of bad habits, such as snapping fingers.

2. Avoid holding children, objects, or wringing clothes for long periods of time.

3. Do not work continuously for too long. After work, gently rub your fingers and wrists.

4. After suffering from this disease, you should pay attention to avoid cold water stimulation to avoid aggravating the symptoms, and actively cooperate with the treatment.
