Urethral pain after sex

Urethral pain after sex

Because the urethra and vaginal opening are very close, they are easily infected by bacteria and cause urethritis. Once urethritis occurs, you may experience pain in the urethra, discomfort when urinating, and even hematuria. Although urethritis is not very serious, it will not heal on its own. Therefore, some treatment is still needed. Urethral pain after intercourse is a typical urinary tract infection. You should pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene to prevent the situation from getting worse.

Can you have sex when you have urethritis? You cannot have sex when you have urethritis. For women, if you have urethritis, due to the physiological characteristics of women, the distance between the urethra and the vagina is relatively close. If you have sex when you have urethritis, the bacteria in the urethra will enter the vagina and cause vaginitis, which will also aggravate the urethritis. Men with urethritis are also not allowed to have sex. If they do have sex, the bacteria in the urinary tract can easily be brought into the female vagina during sexual intercourse, causing symptoms of vaginitis in women, which can have many adverse effects on women. Moreover, during the process of orgasm and ejaculation, semen will strongly flush the male urethra, which is an adverse stimulation and will aggravate the inflammation of the urethra in male patients, making urethritis more severe. So for safety reasons, people with urethritis should not have sex.

Many women have a strong urge to urinate immediately after sexual intercourse, and experience symptoms of urethritis such as urgency, difficulty urinating, and frequent urination. This is because during sexual intercourse, the repeated friction of the male penis stimulates the posterior wall of the female bladder, causing perineal rigidity and making urination difficult after sexual intercourse.

If the urethral opening and vaginal opening are close together, bacteria can easily enter the bladder and cause urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infections in women caused by sexual intercourse are relatively common, especially in newly married women. Research in recent years suggests that changes in sex hormone levels during sexual intercourse lead to changes in the vagina, mucous membranes, and surrounding bacteria, which is an important factor in causing urinary tract infections after sexual intercourse. At the same time, other factors can also lead to recurrent urethritis.

One of the reasons is decreased immunity: At the same time, some patients with urethritis have low immunity, such as diabetes, tumors, liver disease, malnutrition or other chronic diseases, which brings great difficulties to the treatment of urethritis.

The second reason is drug resistance: due to the irregular treatment of urethritis in the early stage, blind use of drugs, destruction of the internal environment, and bacterial resistance.

Reason three: hidden bacteria: Because the pathogens are hidden deep in the tissues and lurk in the urethral crypts, paraurethral glands and other parts, it is difficult for drugs to kill them completely.

Reason 4: Latent infection of pathogens: After urethritis caused by some microorganisms is treated with antibiotics, the bacteria will enter a latent infection state due to defects in drug efficacy and therapy. Drinking, fatigue, mental stress and other factors may induce the multiplication of latent pathogens, leading to recurrence of urethritis.

Reason five, complications: If urethritis recurs and long-term inflammatory damage occurs, it will cause damage, fibrosis, and deformation of the urinary tract mucosa, renal pelvis and calyces. Urinary tract obstruction and deformity will affect normal urine drainage and treatment, which will affect the treatment of urethritis, making traditional drug treatment ineffective and more difficult to treat.
