Precautions for using putty powder:

1. Sometimes the finished product will have powdering and rough feel. What is the problem?

Answer: This is a very common problem of impure fillers among customers. You need to check the lime and cement in the fillers. Random checks in the markets of Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong, Henan and Shenyang show that the amount of white cast in lime exceeds 60-70%, and the amount of white cast in cement exceeds 60%. Or, the calendering time is not properly controlled during construction (80% dry is the best time for calendering), which causes powdering. The rough feel is mainly caused by the heavy calcium and gray calcium not reaching 400 mesh.

2. How to test whether lime lime and cement are genuine products?

Answer: It is very simple. Mix lime and cement into a paste with clean water respectively, scrape it onto the wall, and rub it with your hands after it dries. If it is hard and does not fall off as powder, it is authentic and of qualified quality. Otherwise, it is a counterfeit or inferior product.

Organic polymers can modify and toughen it, thereby improving the performance of putty.

Fillers mainly play a filling role, and commonly used ones are calcium carbonate, talcum powder and quartz sand. Attention should be paid to the matching of filler fineness.

Additives include thickeners, water-retaining agents, etc. Thickeners and water-retaining agents play the role of retaining water and improving storage and construction performance, and cellulose is generally used. Antifreeze agents are mainly used to improve the storage stability of putty at low temperatures. Slip agents and water reducers are generally used in high-end putties to improve the construction performance of putty.

Some also add fibers to resist cracking.
