The spleen is an organ tissue near the human liver. It is relatively hidden and difficult to find, and can only be studied through anatomy. The function of the spleen is irreplaceable. It can secrete digestive enzymes and is one of the best helpers for the intestines. The spleen is prone to health problems and brings a lot of trouble to the body. For example, delayed splenic rupture is a more serious one. Let’s take a look at the early symptoms of delayed splenic rupture. The symptoms of delayed splenic rupture are damage to the splenic parenchyma, with the capsule intact and with a large amount of blood accumulated underneath, often manifesting as a mass in the left upper abdomen. It has a long latent period and compensatory thickening of the capsule. There are multiple blood clots under the ruptured capsule, which are embedded with the ruptured spleen tissue. Delayed (late) splenic rupture is a relatively rare type of splenic rupture (a total of 3 types), and is also a special type of traumatic splenic rupture, accounting for about 10% of closed splenic rupture. There is an asymptomatic period of more than 48 hours (also called the Baudet latent period) between trauma and splenic rupture and bleeding. If it exceeds 48 hours, it can be considered as delayed splenic rupture. Clinical manifestations 1. stomach ache: A ruptured spleen causes abdominal pain and tenderness. It is persistent and generally not very severe. Central rupture and subcapsular rupture are difficult to detect and diagnosis is delayed because the capsule is intact and there are no obvious clinical signs of internal bleeding. Of the clinical cases of spleen rupture, about 85% are true ruptures. The patient bleeds heavily and can quickly go into shock, or even die if not treated in time. 2. Rebound pain, muscle tension: The bleeding in the abdominal cavity acts like an irritant, causing pain, and the abdominal muscles feel stiff to the touch due to reflex contraction. Intraperitoneal bleeding after spleen rupture may cause peritoneal irritation signs, but they are not severe. 3. If bleeding is gradual: There may be no symptoms until the body's blood supply is so depleted that blood pressure drops or oxygen is not delivered to the brain and heart. This condition is an emergency and requires immediate blood transfusion to maintain adequate blood circulation and surgery to stop the bleeding. Without these measures, the patient may go into shock and die. The pain caused by spleen rupture may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting if it is an incomplete rupture. This problem will recover on its own with gradual treatment. If it is a complete rupture, shock will soon occur. If you are worried, go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible. |
