Pain in left jaw due to cold

Pain in left jaw due to cold

In life, many people will experience pain on the left side of their chin due to catching a cold, but these chin pains are not directly caused by catching a cold, but rather by inflammation of other parts of the body caused by the cold, which in turn causes chin pain. For example, if you catch a cold due to catching a cold, the cold will cause inflammation of the lymph nodes, which will cause jaw pain. Today, the editor will take you to learn about these three symptoms of left chin pain caused by cold for your reference.

1. Lymph node inflammation

Lymphadenitis is a nonspecific inflammation caused by acute or chronic inflammation of the drainage area of the lymph nodes. For example, infection of the upper limbs, breasts, chest wall, back and abdominal wall above the navel causes axillary lymphadenitis; infection of the lower limbs, abdominal wall below the navel, perineum and buttocks can cause inguinal lymphadenitis; infection of the head, face, mouth, neck and shoulders causes submandibular and cervical lymphadenitis. Depending on the onset and duration of the disease, lymphadenitis can be divided into acute and chronic lymphadenitis.

2. Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis can be divided into acute tonsillitis and chronic tonsillitis. Chronic tonsillitis may occur after suffering from acute infectious diseases (such as scarlet fever, measles, influenza, diphtheria, etc.), and sinus infections in the nasal cavity may also be associated with this disease. The most common pathogens are streptococci and staphylococci. The clinical manifestations include frequent throat discomfort, foreign body sensation, dryness, itching, irritating cough, bad breath and other symptoms.

3. Thyroiditis

Thyroiditis is a heterogeneous group of diseases involving the thyroid gland caused by various reasons. The causes are different, and the clinical manifestations and prognosis vary greatly. The thyroid function may be normal, hyperthyroid, or hypothyroid. Sometimes all three functional abnormalities may occur during the course of the disease. Some patients eventually develop permanent hypothyroidism. According to the course of the disease, it is divided into acute (suppurative), subacute (non-suppurative) and chronic. According to the cause, it is divided into infectious, autoimmune, radiation thyroiditis, etc. Among them, autoimmune thyroiditis is the most common, which can be divided into Hashimoto's thyroiditis (i.e. chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis), atrophic thyroiditis, painless thyroiditis and postpartum thyroiditis.
