Jaundice skin itching care

Jaundice skin itching care

Jaundice is a relatively common disease, especially among newborn babies, the incidence of jaundice is still very high. Infant jaundice is generally divided into two types: physiological and pathological. For pathological jaundice, patients are likely to experience symptoms of skin itching when the disease occurs. So, how to take care of the skin for jaundice patients with itchy skin symptoms?

1. Diet care

Bad eating habits must be improved. Frequent consumption of spicy and irritating foods can also be a factor in inducing skin itching. Therefore, it is recommended that every patient has a reasonable diet in life and eat more fruits containing water and vitamins, which can not only replenish the body's water, but also effectively relieve the symptoms of itching. Patients can supplement fats and sugars appropriately to ensure the body's required calories and avoid cold stimulation to the skin.

2. Health Care

(1) Pay attention to personal hygiene. A large number of patients suffer from itchy skin due to poor hygiene. Especially in winter, many people are lazy and don't like to take a bath, which leads to worsening of skin itching. Therefore, developing a good habit of taking frequent baths and thoroughly removing dirt and bacteria from the body is a way to prevent and care for skin itching.

(2) Learn how to bathe scientifically. Since the skin surface lacks sufficient sebum protection, the skin becomes dry and dehydrated. Bathing too frequently will remove the already limited sebum protection layer, making the skin even drier. If the bath water is too hot, or if you use soap with a strong alkaline content or if you scrub too hard, it will aggravate the dryness and itchiness of the skin. Therefore, when you take a bath, make sure the time is not too long and the water temperature is not too high. Try to use less bath gel and soap when taking a bath. After taking a bath, you can apply some cream that can prevent moisture evaporation to lock in skin moisture. The main cause of skin itching is dry skin, so you must apply a moisturizer containing anti-itching ingredients 1 to 2 times on the itchy areas to keep the skin moisturized.

3. Spiritual Care

Although skin itching is not a serious disease, you must pay attention to rest and proper psychological stress regulation. Because psychological factors can also affect a person's sensitivity to stimuli, making it more likely to feel itchy, especially it may aggravate the symptoms of people with pruritic neurological dysfunctional skin diseases.
