Feeling dizzy all day long

Feeling dizzy all day long

We always encounter things like this or that in our lives, and sometimes they directly affect our normal life. For example, some people sometimes feel dizzy and groggy. Many times it is caused by high blood pressure, but in addition to that, sometimes it is caused by insufficient rest or poor diet and anemia. Here are the reasons and explanations for feeling dizzy all day long.

1. Rest

1. Rest can reduce the burden on the heart and lungs and alleviate hypoxia.

2. People with mild anemia can engage in appropriate activities and take care of themselves in daily life, but they need to rest more. There should be a lunch break every day. If you feel dizzy or blurred vision during activities, immediately remove the pillow and lie down flat to increase blood circulation in the head, relieve dizziness symptoms, and prevent accidents.

3. Patients with severe anemia need to rest in bed to meet their basic living needs and prevent secondary skin infections. Keep the ward quiet, reduce visitors, and provide concentrated nursing care to ensure that the patient gets enough rest.

2. Proper diet

Patients with anemia should be given a high-protein, high-calorie, high-iron and high-vitamin diet, and the diet should be regulated according to the cause of the anemia. Patients with iron deficiency anemia and anemia caused by folic acid vitamin deficiency should focus on consuming liver, beef, and green vegetables. For patients with oral pain and oral mucosal ulcers, eating is encouraged, and they can eat small meals frequently and drink plenty of water. The diet should consist mainly of light, easily digestible foods, and avoid spicy, overheated, and irritating foods.

3. Preventing complications

1. Skin care: The patient is in an anemic state and is prone to skin infections. For patients with severe anemia, assist in skin cleansing and prevent skin breakdown. Pressure sores are more likely to occur in hypoxic conditions, so bedridden patients should be assisted to turn over regularly to prevent the occurrence of pressure sores.

2. Oral care: Rinse your mouth with saline or boric acid water after eating to remove food debris in your mouth. For those with oral mucosal ulcers, perform oral care 2-3 times a day and apply oral ulcer ointment topically. Brush your teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush; when the air is dry, apply compound peppermint oil to your lips to moisturize them and prevent them from drying out.

3. Ward environment: Keep the air fresh, ventilate 2-3 times a day, maintain appropriate temperature and humidity in the room, reduce the number of accompanying and visiting personnel, and prevent patients from developing lung infections.

4. Condition observation: Measure body temperature three times a day and pay attention to whether the patient has symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection such as sore throat and cough.

4. Alleviate anemia symptoms

1. When severe anemia patients experience breathing difficulties, they should adopt a semi-recumbent position, which is conducive to the expansion of lung tissue and increased gas exchange. If necessary, give oxygen inhalation as directed by the doctor to keep the airway open.

2. Blood transfusion care: Three checks and seven comparisons should be strictly performed before blood transfusion. During blood transfusion, be careful not to transfuse too quickly to avoid increasing the burden on the heart and causing heart failure. At the same time, the patient should be observed for allergic reactions such as chills, fever, urticaria, etc. If a transfusion reaction occurs, the transfusion should be stopped immediately and the doctor should be notified to give appropriate treatment.

3. Nursing of oral iron supplements: Provide good education and guide patients to take iron supplements correctly. Iron supplements should be taken with food. Since vitamin C can increase the absorption of iron, the effect is better when taken with fruit juice. Do not drink tea while taking iron supplements, because tea will destroy iron and affect iron absorption. If you are taking a liquid solution, you should use a straw and rinse your mouth after taking it to prevent tooth staining. At the same time, patients should be informed that taking iron supplements will cause their stools to turn black to avoid causing them to become nervous.
