Long-term unilateral nasal congestion

Long-term unilateral nasal congestion

Nasal congestion is a very troublesome problem, because if it lasts for a long time, it will not only have a certain impact on people's health, but also have a certain impact on people's mental state. Therefore, timely treatment is necessary after nasal congestion occurs. So, what methods can effectively relieve the symptoms of nasal congestion? Here are some tips for you!

1. Eating spicy food

Since spicy food can help clear nasal mucosal fluid and thus help relieve nasal congestion, if it is a temporary nasal congestion, you can eat some spicy food to quickly relieve your nasal congestion.

2. Hot compress on face

Soak a towel in warm water, wring it dry, and then cover your face with the towel for a few minutes. This can help clear the nasal cavity and relieve nasal congestion. Or place your face over hot water to allow hot steam to enter the lungs and nasal cavity, thereby helping to expel some mucus in the nasal cavity and effectively relieve nasal congestion.

3. Soak your feet in hot water

When you have a stuffy nose, you can also help relieve it by soaking your feet in hot water. Soaking your feet before going to bed can allow the heat to enter the acupoints from the soles of your feet, thereby promoting blood circulation, which can effectively relieve the stuffy nose.

4. Press your armpits with your fists

Because there is an autonomic nerve pressure perception mechanism in the armpit, when this mechanism is compressed, the body's sympathetic nerves will be stimulated, causing the blood vessels to contract, thereby unblocking the blocked nasal cavity. Therefore, you can press the armpit with your fist for 10 seconds to quickly relieve nasal congestion symptoms. If the left side of the nose is congested, press the right armpit, and if the right side of the nose is congested, press the left armpit.

5. Massage acupoints

You can use your index finger to massage the acupoints in the depressions on both sides of the nose. Press for three seconds each time and relax for six seconds. One set is nine seconds. Repeating the massage three times can quickly unblock the nasal cavity and make you feel comfortable.

6. Use of medication

Some patients experience nasal congestion due to colds or allergies. At this time, you can use some allergy drugs to quickly relieve your nasal congestion symptoms. However, it should be noted that these drugs need to be used under the guidance of a doctor and cannot be used blindly, especially for people with certain diseases.
