Vision requirements for driver's license physical examination

Vision requirements for driver's license test:

Article 12 of Order No. 139 of the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China states that a person who applies for a motor vehicle driver's license shall meet the following requirements:

Applicants for driving licenses of large passenger vehicles, tractors, city buses, medium-sized passenger vehicles, large trucks, trolleybuses or trams must have a naked or corrected visual acuity of 5.0 or above in both eyes as per the logarithmic visual acuity chart.

For those applying for other types of driving licenses, the naked vision or corrected vision of both eyes must reach 4.9 or above on the logarithmic vision chart.

In addition, those with monocular visual impairment, whose naked or corrected vision of the right eye reaches 5.0 or above on the logarithmic visual acuity chart, and whose horizontal field of vision reaches 150 degrees, can apply for a motor vehicle driver's license for small cars, small automatic cars, low-speed trucks, three-wheeled cars, and small automatic passenger cars for the disabled;

What should I do if my eyesight is not good enough during the driver's license physical examination?

If you know that you are nearsighted, you can wear glasses of appropriate degree and take the physical examination again, because the driver's license physical examination allows for corrected vision and does not require naked eye vision.

For myopic friends whose naked eye vision cannot meet the test requirements for the first time, there is no need to be discouraged. After all, the vision requirement for the driver's license test stipulated in our country is corrected vision, not naked eye vision. Therefore, when applying for a driver's license, you can go to a regular professional ophthalmology hospital for examination and correction in time.

If you fail the vision test at the driving school, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for a physical test. Generally, the vehicle management office will designate several local hospitals for physical examinations. If there are no problems with the physical examination, you can bring the physical examination form and relevant fee receipts back to the driving school.

If the glasses you bring are not strong enough and you fail the first time, go to the nearby store and rent a pair of glasses with a higher degree and you will be allowed to pass the next time.
