Parasites generally live in the bodies of aquatic animals. Aquatic turtles are particularly susceptible to parasitic infections because they live in water for a long time. Nowadays, people who love gourmet food love to try some new foods and pursue excitement. As a delicacy, turtle is no exception. So when they eat turtle, will the parasites in the turtle's body infect the human body?
Causes: Aquatic and terrestrial turtles become infected due to parasites in their living environment in the wild. diagnosis: There are worms on the surface of the turtle, and the turtle is becoming thinner and thinner. Look carefully, especially at the junction of the carapace and plastron. Parasitic infections rarely cause anemia, but they can transmit protozoa, viruses, and bacteria.
If you find parasites on the turtle's body, you should remove them immediately. Newly purchased turtles can be soaked in 1% dichlorvos solution for 2 consecutive days. Artificially bred turtles have a lower incidence of disease. If aquatic turtles are soaked in 0.7 mg/L copper sulfate solution for 20-30 minutes, the leeches will fall off and die. Changing the water frequently on a daily basis, or wiping the turtle with a bristle when soaking it in water, can also prevent the growth of external parasites. Internal parasites Causes: When turtles eat, they bring eggs and worms of various parasites into their bodies, which then parasitize their intestines, stomach, lungs, liver and other parts. The types of parasites include shield flukes, blood-banded worms, trypanosomes, cryptosporidia, nematodes, and acanthocephalian worms. diagnosis: The turtle's physical condition is getting worse and its appearance is getting thinner.
Feed antiparasitic drugs to newly introduced turtles. Such as enterochloride. In addition to using intestinal worm cleaner, you can also use raw pumpkin seeds, with or without the skin. Just three to five pills are enough at a time, and it needs to be used repeatedly over a long period of time. It is worth noting that pumpkin seeds only work against roundworms, and cannot kill other internal parasites. Sick turtles generally do not transmit the disease to humans. One reason is that the disease is not necessarily an infectious disease. Second, most animal diseases are not zoonotic, so this situation is generally not a problem. Of course, basic personal hygiene still needs to be paid attention to. Turtles must carry bacteria and parasites, so be sure to wash your hands after contact. |
