How to maintain dyed hair

When you go out on the street, you can basically see that most people’s hair is not black, but dyed other colors. Because hair dyeing is a personal choice, many people choose to dye their hair in order to find a hairstyle or hair color that suits them. Some people who are good at hair dyeing can elevate their overall image to a higher level. However, hair dyeing is harmful to the hair. How should you care for your hair after dyeing?

1. Conditioner is not only used after washing your hair. Generally, use conditioner during the shampooing process and rinse it off after 3 minutes. It can help nutrient absorption and promote healthy hair. In fact, if you want to double the moisturizing of your hair, there are two other methods you might want to try. The first is the conditioner and hair oil method. After washing your hair, when your hair is 50% dry, apply conditioner, wrap it with a very hot towel, put on a shower cap, wait for 15 minutes, and then rinse it clean.

2. The second option is to carry conditioner with you. There are some leave-in hair care products available on the market, which are especially suitable for dry environments such as offices. After use, your hair will be shiny and easy to comb, allowing you to take care of your hair anytime and anywhere.

3. Treat your hair gently after shampooing

After rinsing your hair, first use a towel to absorb the moisture and avoid rubbing it vigorously. When drying, you need to follow the direction of hair growth. Rubbing it randomly will cause damage to the hair surface.

4. Each person should have at least two combs

Everyone should have two combs, one for combing wet hair, and the other for using dry hair, because dry hair is inevitably stained with grease or dust. If used to comb freshly washed hair, dirt will be brought to the clean wet hair. It is best if one of the combs has a massage function, which helps promote blood circulation in the hair, strengthen hair quality and increase growth rate.

5. Use hair dryers with caution

Many people like to use a hair dryer to dry their hair. In fact, you should be careful when using a hair dryer not to completely dry your hair.

After washing your hair, wipe it until it is 50% dry. Use a hair dryer to blow your hair until it is 80% dry and then stop to prevent the hair from becoming dry due to water loss. Blow-dry your hair from top to bottom, while using your fingers to shake it dry.

6. Hair should be air dried

After washing and trimming your hair, you should try to reduce the number of times you use a blow dryer to protect your scalp and hair tips. If it takes too long to air dry, use a diffuser hair dryer to dry it. At this time, you should lower your head and rub the roots of your hair with your fingers. This will make your hair more voluminous.

7. Keep Massaging

Massage is a very important way to balance the oil and water content of hair. Massage is done by gently moving your fingers over your scalp. Following the direction in which blood naturally flows from the scalp toward the heart, proceed in the order of forehead, hairline, temples, head and neck, and hairline at the back of the head. When massaging oily hair, use lighter pressure; for dry hair, use a little heavier pressure. Regular massage can prevent and treat hair loss, dry and yellow hair, etc.

8. Trim and Fluff

Hair is an appendage of the skin. If hair sticks to the scalp, it will affect the respiration and excretion of the skin, causing the scalp and hair to become oily. Therefore, regular trimming and fluffing of the hair can stimulate the metabolism of hair cells, stimulate hair growth, and keep the hair healthy and shiny.

9. Hair treatment once a week

For dehydrated hair, you should have a hair treatment once a week to replenish the oil and moisture of the hair. Massage your scalp for 10-15 minutes every day to promote blood circulation, supply nutrients to the epidermis, and promote the secretion of sebaceous glands and sweat glands. Use a small amount of olive oil after shampooing. For neutral hair, oil it once every 10-15 days, do head massage 3-4 times a week for 10-15 minutes each time, and use a small amount of conditioner after shampooing.

10. Eat a healthy diet

Hair is made up of cells. Cell metabolism requires a variety of nutrients, so a reasonable diet is an important factor in providing hair nutrition. Protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins and minerals are nutritional resources for healthy hair. Eat foods rich in protein and vitamins A and B regularly, such as walnuts, sesame seeds, dates, carrots, green peppers, spinach, leeks, rapeseed, etc. Eat more fruits, such as oranges, persimmons, sweet apricots, etc. Foods rich in iodine include animal liver, egg yolk, fish, kelp, seaweed, etc. Eat less sugary and fatty foods.
