Hazards of aluminum powder

Hazards of aluminum powder

Heavy metals are extremely harmful to the human body, especially now that the rapid development of industry has also caused great harm to our bodies. For example, the aluminum powder produced by aluminum factories is extremely harmful to the human body. The most direct harm is to our respiratory system. Living in an aluminum powder environment for a long time will cause serious infection in the lungs. The carcinogenicity rate of aluminum powder is very high, so everyone should stay away from this environment.

Hazards of aluminum alloy dust:

The main harm of aluminum alloy dust to the human body is damage to the respiratory system, generally mainly damage the trachea and lungs. Long-term exposure will generally cause symptoms such as bronchitis and asthma. In severe cases, it can lead to aluminum pneumoconiosis, which is caused by long-term inhalation of aluminum powder or dust containing aluminum oxide, which remains in the body for a long time and is deposited in the lung tissue, leading to pulmonary fibrosis. Dusts of metallic aluminum, aluminum oxide, aluminum-containing ores, etc. are deposited in the lungs, forming dust foci. The dust foci fuse and tissue cells infiltrate to form dust cell nodules, which are surrounded by collagen fibers and tissue cells with a small amount of transparent substance in the center. The lung tissue structure is further destroyed, and symptoms of emphysema appear. The onset of aluminum pneumoconiosis is generally slow, and the length of service for the onset is usually more than 10 years. Therefore, it is recommended that you perform cutting work outdoors or in a ventilated environment. You can also use a dust mask to protect yourself from metal dust.

Measures to prevent dust:

1. Technological innovation

Reforming process equipment and process operation methods and adopting new technologies are technical measures to completely eliminate dust pollution and do a good job in dust prevention. In process reform, the first thing to do is to take fundamental measures to prevent the production process from generating dust hazards, and the second thing to do is to take measures to eliminate or reduce the hazards through control after the dust is generated.

2. Wet dust prevention

This is a simple, economical and effective dust prevention measure. Dust is easily absorbed, condensed and increased in weight when it comes into contact with water, which can greatly reduce the generation and spread of dust and improve the air quality of the working environment.

3. Closed dust source

Effectively sealing the dust source is an effective technical measure to prevent dust from escaping, and it is often used in conjunction with ventilation and dust removal technical measures.

4. Ventilation and dust removal

This is the most widely used and most effective technical measure in industrial production. Ventilation and dust removal is to use ventilation methods to effectively control the dust source, extract the dust-containing gas, and discharge it into the atmosphere after purification by the dust collector, so that the dust concentration in the working area meets the requirements of the hygiene standards and the exhaust gas meets the requirements of the emission standards.

5. Personal protection

This is a supplementary measure. Usually, on the basis of other technical measures, various protective equipment (such as masks, dust masks, dust masks, dust helmets, etc.) are used for personnel engaged in dust operations to further prevent the inhalation of dust and reduce the harm of dust to the human body.
