Essential oils should be cosmetics that we often see, especially for female friends, essential oils can be regarded as indispensable cosmetics, but there are many precautions in the use of essential oils. If the essential oils are not used correctly, not only will they not have a good effect, but they will damage our skin. Pregnant women are also prohibited from using these high-concentration cosmetics during pregnancy. Secondly, sun protection must be done after applying essential oils.
1. Some essential oils may cause skin allergies to the sun's ultraviolet rays, so avoid exposing your skin directly to sunlight within 4 hours after use. These essential oils include: bergamot, lemon, sweet orange, grapefruit, tangerine, petitgrain, lime, etc. 2. Since the concentration of essential oils is very high, never take them internally. 3. Avoid using certain essential oils during pregnancy because some of them can cause menstrual disorders and some of their diuretic ingredients may cause fluid loss in the placenta. These essential oils include: basil essential oil, sage essential oil, juniper berry essential oil, rosemary essential oil, marjoram essential oil, fennel essential oil, clove bud essential oil, cypress essential oil, chamomile essential oil, lemongrass essential oil, peppermint essential oil, cedarwood essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil, etc. (Be careful not to use essential oils in a sprayer) 4. When using essential oils for massage, be sure not to touch your eyes to prevent them from sticking to your eyes. If this happens, don't panic. You can soak a cotton swab in milk without rubbing it with your hands, then wipe the infected area. In severe cases, rinse your eyes with lukewarm water for about 15 minutes. 5. Air, light and heat can all reduce the quality of essential oils. Essential oils should be stored in a ventilated, dark place, and the bottle cap should be tightened after each use. Use stainless steel, glass or ceramic containers to hold essential oils, not plastic products. Store in a dark glass bottle in a sealed container in a cool place away from direct sunlight to extend its shelf life and better maintain its efficacy.6. In a confined space, excessive exposure to essential oils may cause nausea, dizziness, headache, blood sugar imbalance, pain, over-excitement, etc. Therefore, if exposed to high concentrations of essential oils, ensure that the room is well ventilated. 7. Do not use essential oils on infants, pregnant women, children, the elderly and people with health problems. 8. Be especially careful when using essential oils on delicate skin. 9. Insist on using only pure essential oils and do not use synthetic essential oils. 10. People with high blood pressure, epilepsy, neuropathy and kidney disease should avoid using certain essential oils (such as cypress, rosemary, sage, black pepper, pine, fennel). The above persons need to receive guidance from an aromatherapist before using essential oils. 11. Essential oils are not a substitute for medicines and cannot be used to treat various internal and external diseases or disorders. If needed to combat any medical issues, it is recommended to be used under the guidance of a qualified pharmacist. When used to relieve physical discomfort, if the pain or discomfort is not relieved after use, a qualified aromatherapist should be consulted. 12. Strictly keep the dosage of essential oils within the safe range. Excessive use can have the opposite effect and accumulate toxins in the body, especially with clary sage, marjoram, and ylang-ylang essential oils.13. Essential oils should generally be diluted before use, unless otherwise specified. 14. Avoid contact of essential oils with plastic, painted and painted surfaces. 15. Certain essential oils should not be used after drinking and before driving, such as sage essential oil, marjoram essential oil and ylang ylang essential oil (which will cause a slightly tipsy effect). 16. Some essential oils can cause skin allergies, especially citrus essential oils. A "small skin test" should be performed on the inside of the arm before large-scale use. 17. When using the steam method, asthma patients should be extra careful and only do it with protective measures. It is strictly forbidden to use it during exercise. |
