Most people will check the numerical index of D-dimer when they go to the hospital for a physical examination, because D-dimer can reflect a person's physical health. So what is the clinical significance of D-dimer?

1. Clinical significance of D-dimer

D-dimer measurement is a good indicator for diagnosing active fibrinolysis and has important diagnostic value for thrombotic diseases such as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), deep vein thrombosis, cerebrovascular disease, pulmonary embolism, liver disease, malignant tumors, and acute myocardial infarction after surgery. At the same time, D-dimer detection can also be used as a treatment monitoring indicator for thrombolytic drugs.

What causes elevated D-dimer values?

1. Increased plasma D-dimer (DD) is associated with inflammation, bleeding, and thrombosis. Especially when bleeding and inflammatory reactions are excluded, when the D plasma-dimer rises above 4000, it has a high sensitivity for the diagnosis of thrombotic diseases.

2. As long as there is activated thrombosis and fibrinolytic activity in the body's blood vessels, D-dimer will increase. Myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, pulmonary embolism, venous thrombosis, surgery, tumors, disseminated intravascular coagulation, infection and tissue necrosis can all lead to elevated D-dimer levels. High D2 aggregates mainly indicate abnormal coagulation function and easy thrombosis. Anticoagulant drugs such as enteric-coated aspirin tablets and low molecular weight heparin sodium can be used for treatment.

3. The harm of high d2 polymer value

Plasma D-dimer is a specific degradation product produced by cross-linking of fibrin monomers by activation factors and then hydrolysis by fibrinolytic enzymes. The increase in its level reflects a hypercoagulable state and secondary hyperfibrinolysis. A high D2 polymer index is not a symptom, but an examination indicator. This extremely high index indicates that small blood clots have formed in the body. If the patient's D2 polymer is over 4,000, then the blood in his entire body is in a hypercoagulable state, and he is at risk of myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction at any time. Guidance: It is recommended to give patients preventive medication first, and take aspirin orally every day, which can reduce the risk of myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction, and then find out the specific reason why the D2 aggregate is so high.
