1. Blink more: People always like to use "not blinking at all" to describe someone's concentration, but they don't know that the less you blink, the more likely you are to develop dry eyes. Take a break after using your eyes for about an hour, close your eyes, look into the distance, or look at green plants or pictures. For patients with debris or loose material on their eyelids, it is important to maintain eyelid hygiene.

3. Young people who use computers for long periods of time should be aware of symptoms of dry eyes and seek medical attention as soon as possible. People over 40 are better off using bifocal lenses, or wearing glasses with lower degrees when typing.

Try to keep the distance from the computer at least 60 cm, so that your line of sight can be kept downward at about 30 degrees. This can relax the neck muscles and minimize the area of ​​the eye surface exposed to the air.

People who work on computers for a long time should eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and increase their intake of vitamins A, B1, C and E. To prevent dry cornea, dry eyes, decreased vision, and even night blindness, you should eat more foods rich in vitamin A, such as soy products, fish, milk, walnuts, green vegetables, cabbage, water spinach, tomatoes and fresh fruits. Vitamin C can effectively inhibit cell oxidation.

5. Try to use air conditioning as little as possible. In addition to regulating the temperature, air conditioning can also dehumidify and reduce the moisture content in the air. In this dry environment, the evaporation rate of the tear film increases, which can easily cause the eyes to become dry and astringent.

Winter, with its dry climate, is a high incidence season for dry eyes. In summer, the weather is hot. To prevent dry eyes, be sure to open windows and ventilate regularly when using air conditioning.

6. Apply artificial tears (nutrient solution) as needed, but be careful not to apply too frequently, preferably no more than 6 times a day. Because if you do it more than 6 times a day, it will wash away the normal tear film and aggravate the symptoms.

7. Gel eye ointment can be stored in the eye for a long time, but the ointment is greasy, patients feel it is not "hygienic", there is significant blurred vision, and the acceptance is poor. Eye gel is currently an ideal preparation. Eye gel has a long retention time in the eye, is very hygienic, has a cool feeling when applied, is easy to use, and has good acceptance.

8. To clean the eyelids and apply hot compress, use a towel dipped in water that is higher than body temperature but not too hot, and apply it on the eyes with closed eyes. Do this for about 10 minutes each time. It is best to do it once in the morning, because the meibomian glands secrete most vigorously at night, and the retained secretions are the most. 9. For patients with moderate to severe disease who need artificial tears 4 to 5 times a day, the blockage of the tear duct can alleviate symptoms and reduce the amount of artificial tears used.
