Wugu Chong is a traditional Chinese medicine name. It is the dried larvae of the big-headed golden fly or other closely related insects of the family Calliphoridae. 1. Habitat distribution

Ecological environment: Adult flies occur most frequently in summer. They like to live outdoors and eat desserts, melons, fruits, fresh feces, and smelly substances. 2. [Properties] Dry insect body, flat cylindrical. The head is pointed, 1-1.5cm long and 2-3mm wide. Yellowish white, some slightly transparent. 【Pharmacological action】

1. Antiasthmatic effect: Intraperitoneal injection of 40% ethanol extract of O. oleraceus and 2.4 ml of total amino acids extracted from O. oleraceus by ion exchange method respectively has a good preventive effect on asthma induced by inhalation of histamine phosphate in guinea pigs; the ethanol extract of O. oleraceus and the crude total amino acid extract of O. oleraceus have obvious antispasmodic effect on the spasm of isolated guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle caused by histamine. The experimental results preliminarily indicate that the total amino acids contained in the grain worm are effective ingredients for relieving asthma.

2. The effect on intestinal smooth muscle is that the ethanol extract of Oxytricha oleracea and the crude total amino acid extract of Oxytricha oleracea have obvious antispasmodic effect on the spasm of ileum smooth muscle of isolated rabbits and guinea pigs induced by histamine.

3. Toxicity: The toxicity of the grain worm is low. When 36g/kg (equivalent to 450 times that of humans) was gavaged into mice, there was no toxic reaction and no death was observed for 3 days.
