How to make a headband

Headbands are what we often call hairpins. They are usually used more by little girls, but adult women sometimes use them as well. Headbands are made of many materials, usually plastic or cloth. In addition to fixing the hair, the headband can also play a decorative function, making our hair look more personalized. You can buy headbands, or you can make them yourself. So, how to make a headband? Let’s take a look at the method in detail below.

A piece of plaid cloth

A headband (wide or narrow is fine)

A 2.5cm wide ribbon

Lace (optional), needle and thread, ruler (optional), drawing powder or erasable marker, scissors

practice:

1. Use a ruler to measure the length of the headband, about 37cm

2. Cut a piece of cloth 37cm long and 7.6cm wide, fold it in half and draw an arc as shown in the picture

The narrowest part of the arc should be able to fit into the headband in addition to the two seam allowances (larger than the seam allowance * 2 + the width of the headband)

3. Cut along the arc

5. Sew lace on the front of one of the pieces of fabric

6. Place the two pieces of cloth facing each other, sew them together, and leave a return edge

7. Turn out from the back

10. Put it on as shown in the picture, and the main part of the headband is completed

11. Cut a piece of cloth 35*13cm in size, fold it in half and draw an arc as shown in the picture

14. Sew the front sides together and leave a return opening

15. Turn to the front and sew the back seam

16. Fold as shown and sew a few times to secure.

17. Cut a piece of cloth 30*7.5cm, fold it in half, sew it, and leave the left and right sides open without sewing

18. Flip out from the side

19. Tie a knot

20. Sew it to the bow and cut off the excess fabric

21.Fix the middle and both sides of the bow to the main body of the headband with needle and thread

22. Use the ribbon to measure the end of the headband and cut it to the appropriate length

23.Sew at the end of the headband

Tips:

No lace is not needed

If you don't have a ruler, you can use the cloth to measure the length directly on the headband.

You can cut the arc directly on the cloth without drawing powder, etc.
