If a stye grows in your eye, it is very uncomfortable. It mainly occurs in some teenagers. This is mainly because young people often stay up late and do not know how to take care of their bodies, which causes eye fatigue. Some people are caused by bacterial infection. No matter what the cause is, medication is needed. What causes internal styes? The eye of a needle is the eye of a needle. Stye is an acute suppurative inflammation of the eyelid gland, commonly known as stye. Depending on the glandular tissue involved, it is divided into external hordeolum and internal hordeolum. External hordeolum is an inflammation of the eyelash follicles and their sebaceous glands, while internal hordeolum is an acute suppurative inflammation of the meibomian glands. This disease is mostly caused by staphylococcal infection. Patients are more common in adolescents. Those with weak constitution, myopia, hyperopia and bad hygiene habits are most susceptible to the disease. 1 General treatment: moist hot compress, local physical therapy. 2. Antibiotic treatment. 3. Surgical treatment: For those with pus spots, incision and drainage are performed. Clinical manifestations of stye The eyelid skin is locally red, swollen, hot and painful, and the adjacent conjunctiva is edematous. After 1 to 3 days, pus will form and a yellow pus head will appear. External hordeolum occurs in the sebaceous glands at the root of the eyelashes and manifests itself on the skin surface; internal hordeolum occurs in the meibomian glands and manifests itself on the conjunctival surface. After the ulceration and pus discharge, the pain will be relieved and the redness and swelling will subside. There are two types of styes: internal and external. Hordeolum externum is an acute suppurative inflammation of the gland of Zeis. Initially, the eyelid margin shows localized congestion and swelling, which forms into a nodule after about 1 to 3 days. There is obvious pain and tenderness. Later, the nodule gradually softens and a yellow pustule forms at the root of the eyelashes, which breaks through and discharges pus and heals quickly. If the pathogen is highly toxic, it can also cause edema of the eyelids and nearby conjunctiva, and enlargement of the preauricular lymph nodes. Severe cases may have chills, fever, and other symptoms. Hordeolum interunm is an acute suppurative inflammation of the meibomian glands. Its clinical symptoms are not as severe as those of external hordeolum, because the inflamed meibomian glands are surrounded by firm tarsal tissue, and yellow pus masses are often faintly visible on the surface of the congested conjunctiva, which may break through and discharge pus into the conjunctival sac on their own. There may be a slight bulge and congestion at the opening of the inner meibomian gland, and pus may be discharged along the meibomian gland duct. In a few cases, pus may be discharged from the skin. If the tarsal plate cannot be penetrated and the pathogen is highly toxic, the inflammation will expand and invade the entire tarsal plate tissue to form an eyelid abscess. |
