We all know that chickenpox is a contagious skin disease. We generally should not touch the clothes of patients with chickenpox to avoid allergic reactions. But is chickenpox still contagious after recovery? This confuses many patients. However, even after recovery, they still have to stay away from their friends. Therefore, we need to know whether chickenpox will recur after treatment or whether it will be contagious. In fact, there is no need to worry too much, because chickenpox will no longer be contagious after recovery, mainly because the allergens should have been eliminated. The key is that we must pay attention to our personal hygiene. Chickenpox is not contagious once it has healed. The condition of children with chickenpox is generally mild, with few complications and no need for special treatment. They can usually recover naturally within 7 to 10 days. But take good care to prevent infection. During the fever and rash period, the child should rest in bed, drink plenty of water, and be provided with nutritious and easily digestible food such as milk, eggs, fruits, vegetables, etc. Spicy fish and shrimp foods should be avoided; prevent colds, especially avoid being blown by the wind; wash hands and face frequently, change clothes frequently, and keep the skin clean; pay attention to the cleaning and disinfection of clothes and utensils, and pay attention to hygiene. Chickenpox usually starts to cause blisters one day after the onset of fever. The contagiousness is not very high after 5 days of the onset of the disease. Chickenpox is transmitted through the respiratory tract. The most contagious period is from 2 days before the onset of the disease to 5 days after the onset of the disease. If the blisters have scarred and have no exudate, the contagiousness is lower. Chickenpox is a viral infectious disease that usually lasts 7-10 days. Children can go back to school one week after the symptoms disappear. It takes an estimated 14 days from the onset of the disease to recovery. Drink more warm water, eat light and soft food, keep warm and prevent cold, avoid sweet and spicy food, seafood and shrimp, greasy, fried or deep-fried food, keep stool soft and unobstructed, wash hands frequently, ventilate the room frequently, apply external powder plus urea, triamcinolone acetonide ointment plus acyclovir ointment externally, add some water when applying on the face, take oral anti-inflammatory and antiviral drugs for symptomatic treatment. What foods should you avoid when you have chickenpox? 1. Although both chickenpox and measles are febrile diseases with rashes, measles is more difficult to cure thoroughly and requires the use of rashes-inducing foods. For chickenpox, it is advisable to clear away heat, and avoid eating irritating foods. Eating irritating foods will increase the number and size of chickenpox, thus prolonging the course of the disease. Therefore, in the early stages of the disease, it is forbidden to eat irritating foods, such as coriander, rice wine, crucian carp, ginger, green onion, mutton, rooster, shrimp, eel, pumpkin, etc. 2. Eating spicy food. Like other febrile diseases, chickenpox should avoid eating spicy food. Spicy food can help fire produce phlegm and make the fever more serious. Such foods include chili peppers, chili oil, mustard, curry, garlic, leeks, fennel, cinnamon, pepper, etc. 3. Greasy food: Children with chickenpox often experience loss of appetite and poor digestion due to fever, so they should avoid eating greasy food, such as fried sesame balls, chocolate cakes, twisted dough sticks, fried pork chops, fried steak, fried chicken and other greasy and stomach-harming foods. These foods are difficult to digest and will increase the burden on the gastrointestinal tract. 4. Hot foods: The treatment of chickenpox should focus on clearing heat and detoxifying, so foods that are hot in nature should not be taken. Such foods include dog meat, mutton, venison, sparrow meat, broad beans, garlic sprouts, leeks, longan meat, lychees, jujubes, corn, etc. 5. Tonic and hot medicines are prohibited, such as ginseng, deer antler, aconite, fennel, cinnamon, and epimedium. The number of chickenpox rashes is large, ranging from hundreds to thousands. They usually first appear on the face, scalp, and trunk, and are distributed in a centripetal pattern, with more cases on the hairline, chest and back, fewer on the limbs and face, and occasionally on the palms and soles of the feet. Rashes may also occur on the mucous membranes of the nose, pharynx, oral cavity, vulva, etc. When the rash appears, it is still accompanied by varying degrees of systemic symptoms, but they are often milder than before the rash appeared. The fever usually gradually decreases to normal as the rash stops. |
