Can cooked shrimps still be eaten overnight?

Shrimp is known as the most nutritious seafood. It is well known that shrimps are rich in calcium and various minerals and trace elements that are beneficial to the human body. In addition, their fresh and fragrant taste makes shrimps one of the most popular foods among the people. In addition, the price of shrimps in the market is relatively high, and it is not easy for families with low income to eat shrimps every day. So the shrimps that cannot be finished in one meal are usually kept and eaten in the next meal. But can cooked shrimps still be eaten if they are left overnight?

If you think it’s a pity to throw it away, you must meet the following 3 guarantee conditions:

1. Guaranteed not to go bad or spoil.

2. It must be reheated and heated thoroughly.

3. To maintain its freshness, it needs to be refrigerated but not frozen.

Seafood such as crabs, fish, and shrimps will produce protein degradation products after being left overnight, which can damage liver and kidney functions. If you buy too much, you can put the raw seafood in a plastic bag or box, freeze it in the refrigerator, and cook it next time.

Put the cooked shrimp in a sealed fresh-keeping box, fill a container with cold water, put the fresh-keeping box in the water, and place it in a cool place. It can be kept for 24 hours without spoiling. The nutritional value of shrimp is as follows:

1. Shrimp contains 20% protein, which is one of the foods with high protein content. It is several times or even dozens of times that of fish, eggs and milk. Compared with fish, shrimp does not contain high content of valine, an essential amino acid for the human body, but it is a nutritionally balanced source of protein. In addition, shrimp contains glycine. The higher the content of this amino acid, the sweeter the shrimp will taste.

2. Compared with fish and poultry, shrimp has less fat and almost no animal sugar as an energy source. Shrimp has a high cholesterol content and is rich in taurine, which can lower human serum cholesterol. Shrimp is rich in potassium, iodine, magnesium, phosphorus and other trace elements and vitamin A.

Tips for preserving fresh shrimp

1. Bottle preservation method

Put the fresh shrimps one by one into an empty beverage bottle, fill it with water, tighten the bottle cap, and freeze it in the refrigerator. This way the shrimps are completely isolated from the air and will not have any odors. Before eating, take out a bottle and thaw it in advance, then use a knife or scissors to break open the bottle. One bottle is just enough to make one dish. This method is simple, convenient, clean, neat, and most importantly, it keeps freshness from drying out and does not transfer flavors. Because the shrimps are isolated from the air, the shrimp meat is as fresh as new ones and will not become dry and woody.

2 Fresh-keeping bag freezing method

Buy a thick plastic bag first. Cut off the whiskers and spines on the newly bought shrimps to prevent them from piercing the bag and losing their freshness. Straighten them out and put them into the fresh-keeping bag. After the bag is full, put 3 more similar plastic bags on the outside of the bag, seal it with transparent tape, and put it directly into the refrigerator. Then set the refrigerator to the highest setting for 8 to 10 hours, which will keep the food both frozen and fresh. When you want to eat, take out a bag and soak it in water.

The disadvantage of this method is that the plastic bag is easy to break. Once the plastic bag is broken, the shrimp will no longer be fresh, will become dry, and will easily have flavors that are mixed with other foods. Over time, the taste will also become soggy.

3. Fresh-keeping box freezing method

After cutting off the shrimp whiskers and shrimp claws, place them neatly in a safety box. No need to add water. Cover the box lid, making sure there are no gaps, and put it directly into the refrigerator for quick freezing. When eating, just use a large fruit knife to pry it out gently and it will all come out intact. The texture of these shrimps is the same as that of freshly bought live shrimps, and they can be preserved until next year when fresh shrimps are available.
