In addition, it is best not to eat too much papaya at one time.

The papaya alkaloids in papaya are slightly toxic to the human body. Do not eat too much at a time. People with allergies should eat it with caution. The reason why you cannot eat papaya during pregnancy is because it may cause uterine contractions and abdominal pain, but it will not affect the fetus. Applicable people: Suitable for patients with chronic atrophic gastritis, postpartum women with lack of milk, patients with rheumatic pain, bruises, indigestion, and obesity, but not suitable for pregnant women and people with allergies.

1. Eat raw

If the papaya is not ripe when it is cut, it is impossible to ripen it. If the papaya is not ripe when you cut it, you can eat it raw, because papaya can be eaten raw. If it is not ripe and eaten raw, the flesh may be hard, crispy, a bit bitter and astringent, and the taste is not very good. If you don’t want to eat it raw, you can also try other ways of eating it.

2. Cook the soup

The nutrients in fruits are mainly vitamins, which are easily oxidized and lose their nutritional value when exposed to air. Therefore, it is recommended to eat the cut papaya immediately if it is not ripe. If the papaya is not ripe, you can actually cook it into soup. Although it does not taste as good as the soup made from ripe papaya, it is still worth a try. There are many delicious papaya soups, such as papaya soup, red dates and pear soup, crucian carp papaya soup, white fungus papaya soup, etc.

3 Steamed

Papaya can actually be eaten raw, and there is no nutritional difference between it and ripe ones, but the taste is not very good. However, if the papaya is not ripe after being cut, it is recommended to steam it before eating. This way it will taste better and be better absorbed.

4. Stir-fry

Papaya is great for stir-frying if it is not ripe, but like watermelon, papaya cannot withstand stir-frying and should be stir-fried quickly. After papaya is heated, its carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E will be lost significantly, the fruit acid content will drop significantly, and papain will also denature at high temperature. Moreover, if the papaya is fried too ripe, the taste will not be good.

Unripe papaya is green in appearance, with hard, crispy flesh that is a bit bitter and astringent. It doesn’t taste very good when eaten raw, but it is not poisonous and can be eaten.

How to ripen unripe papaya

1. Place in a warm and ventilated place

Papaya is a fruit that matures particularly easily. After buying green papayas, you can put them in a warm and ventilated place. After leaving them naturally for three to five days, the green papaya will change color and its texture will become soft. This means that the papaya is ripe. When you want to eat it, you can just cut it open and eat it. Do not freeze it to avoid a bad taste.

2. Put it together with ripe fruits to ripen them

After purchasing papaya, you can ripen it with fruits such as apples. However, the apples used to ripen papaya must be naturally ripened apples. When ripening papaya, you can cut the apple into four pieces, and then put it in a fresh-keeping bag together with the papaya, seal it, and then store it in a warm environment.
