How is lung cancer staged? It is divided into these five stages

Lung cancer does have serious complications, so it must be treated actively. However, during the treatment process, it is combined with the current condition. Therefore, it is important to understand the staging of lung cancer. It is mainly divided into 5 different levels, and the distinction between these 5 different levels also indicates whether the condition is in a serious state, which can help effective treatment.

For people with lung cancer, in order to get effective and correct treatment, they also need to consider their personal physical health and the degree of progression of lung cancer. These are very critical factors. Among them, the degree of progression of lung cancer is very critical, because how to stage it during the treatment process is indeed of great significance, and it can also effectively determine whether the current lung cancer is more serious. So how is lung cancer staged?
1. Stage 0 lung tumor
This is actually what is medically known as carcinoma in situ, and is also the earliest type of lung cancer. When it appears, it has basically not spread significantly, and even the symptoms are not particularly obvious, so it is very likely to be missed.
2. Stage I lung cancer
This is also a relatively small tumor. It basically does not spread at all. The surgeon can completely remove the tumor during the operation. In this case, the tumor will generally not exceed three centimeters.
3. Stage II lung cancer
If the tumor is larger than 5 cm and smaller than 7 cm, it belongs to this stage. At this time, there is no obvious spread. Sometimes, if it is larger than 7 cm, it may invade nearby tissue structures, and sometimes it does not spread to nearby lymph nodes at all.
4. Stage III lung cancer
Lung cancer at this stage may actually lead to obvious distant metastasis of the disease, and may also cover the original tumor status. In this case, even if you choose surgical treatment, there will be no better effect. For example, lung cancer may have already spread to the chest cavity, and there may even be serious risks. In this case, it is impossible to remove the tumor cells when choosing surgery.
5. Stage IV lung cancer
This means that lung cancer has already spread seriously, and not just to one part. It is very likely to spread to the pleura, blood, or another area of the lungs. In this case, it may also metastasize to the brain or bones. Because of the severe metastasis, surgical treatment or other treatment methods will not have any good effect.
