Why do I always have back pain?

Back pain is a relatively common phenomenon. Most people tend not to take it seriously when they experience back pain, and think that they will be fine if they just rest more. In fact, some back pain may be caused by cold. At this time, you must pay attention to keeping warm. This kind of back pain generally does not need to be worried too much, but sometimes some back pain is caused by illness. If you want to confirm the diagnosis, it is best to go to the hospital for examination and provide targeted treatment after clarifying the cause.

What causes back pain?

Many people think that back pain is no big deal, it is just a common thing.

However, according to clinical statistics, 70% of people suffering from "back pain" are eventually diagnosed with lumbar spine disease, and some people even become disabled due to excessive strain. This shows that back pain is not a simple matter.

Generally speaking, back pain caused by fatigue will disappear after about three days of rest. If the back pain not only does not disappear after rest or massage, but becomes more severe, friends must pay attention! What is the reason for back pain?

1. Ankylosing spondylitis

It can be said that ankylosing spondylitis is one of the main causes of back pain in some people, and the disability rate of this disease is very high. Therefore, experts remind patients that once they find back pain or other abnormal conditions, they must go to the hospital immediately for detailed examination and treatment. Patients with ankylosing spondylitis often experience recurrent attacks of sciatica and alternating pain between the left and right sides. These are the most common symptoms of this disease, so patients should be vigilant in their daily lives.

In addition, these patients often experience back pain or stiffness in their daily lives, and there are slight changes in the X-rays of the sacroiliac joint. These symptoms can be diagnosed as early symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis.

2. Back pain caused by cervical spondylosis

How can cervical spondylosis cause back pain when it occurs in the cervical spine? Little do people know that the posterior branches of the spinal nerves of the fourth, fifth and sixth cervical vertebrae extend to the back and control the skin and muscles of the upper back.

When degenerative changes occur in the cervical spine, if the posterior branches of the spinal nerves of the fourth, fifth, and sixth cervical vertebrae are pulled, back pain will occur. In fact, neck and back pain, upper limb weakness, numbness of fingers, dizziness, nausea, and even blurred vision and difficulty swallowing are all symptoms of cervical spondylosis.

3. Back pain caused by neck sprain and stiff neck

Due to improper neck movement or bad sleeping position, local muscles are sprained and the pain involves the back muscles. The medical history is short, the tenderness point is fixed and located at the injured muscle site, which is more common in the upper inner part of the scapula, and is accompanied by muscle spasm. Obviously tender cord-like spasmodic muscle bundles can be felt, and the movement of the neck and back is obviously limited.

3. Early ankylosing spondylitis

There are also some patients with early ankylosing spondylitis who often experience different types of back pain in their daily lives. Therefore, these patients must pay special attention in their daily lives, and once they have back pain, they should take it seriously immediately. The symptoms of these patients include chronic generalized or persistent back and waist pain, in addition to tenderness of the spinous processes. If the symptoms are more severe, there will also be scattered tenderness and stiffness in the back and waist after waking up in the morning.

The symptoms of back and waist pain are more obvious when leaning back, but these uncomfortable symptoms can be effectively relieved after proper exercise. Patients with ankylosing spondylitis tend to get tired easily after standing or walking for a long time, and may also experience symptoms of locking pain.

4. Back pain caused by rheumatism

Rheumatism is mostly an autoimmune disease with a hidden and slow onset and a long course. It invades the joints, bones, muscles, blood vessels and related soft tissues, and can cause a certain degree of back pain. The back pain will be aggravated in cool, windy and damp weather.

5. Back pain caused by frozen shoulder

Frozen shoulder can cause shoulder joint pain. As the disease progresses, the pain range will continue to increase, and some patients will experience back pain.

6. Functional reasons

Some patients also suffer from back pain due to functional reasons, which are also called physical causes or primary causes in medicine. This is the most likely cause of back pain in patients. Normally, damage to the back structure is the least noticeable, and once it is noticed, the symptoms are usually already quite serious. There are many reasons that lead to functional damage to the back, most of which are caused by lifestyle, improper posture or psychological stress.

The back extensor muscles of our human body hardly have any active exertion during a person's daily movements, and are often in a state of passive stretching. In this case, they play the role of maintaining the balance and coordination of human movement. It can be said that the back muscles of the human body work the longest, so it is easy to experience discomfort symptoms such as soreness, swelling, pain, and numbness.

7. Organic causes

Another factor is back pain caused by organ damage. Through X-ray irradiation and scanning, it can be found that most of these patients have organ damage, tumors and other factors, which are the causes of back discomfort in patients. There are also infections, organ degeneration, etc., which can affect the structure of the spine.

Ways to relieve back pain

1. Do yoga to relieve back pain. Yoga can not only calm the mind and lose weight, but also relieve back pain due to stretching movements. If you do yoga at least once a week for 40-90 minutes each time for three months, your back pain will improve. The effects of yoga are good and healthy, far better than taking medicine or physical therapy. Stretching is just as effective as yoga for treating back pain, but the main areas of the body that are worked are the torso and legs.

2. Massage your back to relieve pain. Each acupoint can be massaged for 10 minutes each time. The specific number of times a day can be determined according to the relief situation. If the back pain is severe, do it 3 or 4 times a day. If it is less severe, do it twice a day. Massaging the Xinshu, Dushu and Geshu points on the upper back can help stimulate the lungs and heart, as well as regulate blood circulation, relax the stomach and soothe the stomach. Massaging the liver, gallbladder, and spleen points on the lower back can stimulate the liver, gallbladder, strengthen the spleen, harmonize the stomach, and eliminate dampness.

3. Stand against the wall to increase the muscle strength of the back to relieve back pain. Stand up straight with your back against the wall, and bring the shoulder blades on both sides as close to the wall as possible. Hold this position for about 3 minutes each time. This will help increase muscle strength and help prevent and relieve back pain.

4. Relaxing your body and mind, reducing stress, and maintaining mental health are also relevant to avoiding back pain. When people are anxious, the body goes into a “fight or flight” response, which causes muscles to tense and prepare for action, so people who are nervous and stressed are more likely to experience back pain.
