Nowadays, with the continuous improvement of science and technology, various medical facilities have begun to appear in people's daily lives. The hyperbaric oxygen chamber is one of them. The hyperbaric oxygen chamber is a medical device that can treat various types of diseases such as gas poisoning, cerebral thrombosis, vasculitis, vertigo, altitude sickness, etc. Its therapeutic effect is relatively good, so it is particularly widely used in clinical medicine. 1. Indications Hyperbaric oxygen is suitable for the following diseases: poisoning by harmful gases such as coal gas, hydrogen sulfide, and biogas, cerebral thrombosis, cerebral hemorrhage, brain trauma, neuritis, vasculitis, diabetic gangrene, difficult-to-heal ulcers, fetal maldevelopment, neonatal asphyxia, acute gas embolism, decompression sickness, altitude sickness, sudden deafness, Meniere's syndrome, and vertigo. Compared with ordinary oxygen inhalation, hyperbaric oxygen is more powerful and more effective. It can directly use oxygen to solve the problem of hypoxia. Hyperbaric oxygen also has antibacterial effects. 2. Treatment of gas poisoning The inhaled carbon monoxide combines with red blood cells and erythrocytes, and after the combination it excludes the red blood cells' ability to transport oxygen. Under normal circumstances, people rely on oxygen to survive, but after gas poisoning, the oxygen in the body is replaced by carbon monoxide, and the body will suffer from hypoxia. The brain is the one that needs oxygen the most. The symptoms of gas poisoning are all manifestations of the nervous system. Mild symptoms include dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, and lack of strength, while severe symptoms include coma, which are all related to brain hypoxia. Carbon monoxide has a stronger ability to bind to red blood cells than oxygen. When patients with gas poisoning are placed in fresh air, it will take 10-20 hours to excrete the gas poisoning because the oxygen content in the atmosphere is only 1/5 of that in the air. When patients with gas poisoning are sent to a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, the amount of oxygen inhaled by the patients is much greater than the oxygen content in the air. Many seriously ill patients wake up before the treatment is over, and the symptoms of poisoning can be relieved after 40-50 minutes. 3. Treatment of cerebral thrombosis The benefit of entering a hyperbaric oxygen chamber is that blood is supplied to the diseased area from the surrounding normal brain tissue. Backflow and reverse backflow phenomenon: After patients with cerebral thrombosis are given vasodilator drugs, normal brain tissue cells react sensitively to the drugs, while the reaction in the lesion area is not very sensitive, and the blood vessels do not dilate. The blood in the brain flows through the normal brain tissue, which is the dilated area, instead of passing through the lesion area. This phenomenon is called backflow. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has the effect of reverse blood flow. |
